Highlights
10. Rayban's text message to The Spirit of Rayban: "U suck sh_t tonight, which proved last week was a fluke." Ouch, so harsh!
9. Team 13 was definitely the fastest game tonight as Arms' team had 5 uncontested lay-ups off turnovers and some Thun_er D by Oh Henry's team.
8. Tank pushed Vince-anity with his right forearm while driving in in game 9. Vince-anity didn't call the foul and the lay-up was blown. Ball don't lie!
7. Vince-anity blows by God in game 5, then up-and-under on Arms for lay-up. VCC!
6. Tayza Da Layza, aka The Rayban Killer, banks one home from 4 feet out after grabbing his own miss. Whore to Rayban, "Hey Ray(ted), BALL DON'T LIE!"
5. 'Roids receives the ball at around mid-court on a fastbreak in game 4. Instead if catching it though, he tap-passes to The Glove, who was all alone in front of him of an uncontested lay-up.
4. God: "Duke any day. hate unc. jordan is a tard. I shuda played 4 duke during my college days." True God is a tard? No way!
3. On the NCAA Championship game last night... Rayban: "Great game, he had a good shot, wuda been game of da century had it gone in." God: "wuda been game of the century if i had played." Man, that really cracked me up lol.
2. As God blows by his check against Oh Henry's team in game 10 for an uncontested lay-up, Whore turns around and gets ready for offence and yells out "NBA JAM!"
1. God's hair tonight. Stunning.
* Please to go the Photos section to check out Jason's baby. Her name is Ciara Yaeko Tze Ying Cheung. Seems like it has got Black, Japanese and Chinese all covered!
April 13
Cancelled - The Bishop will be here and both the church and the gym will be used.

Big Baby's Baby! That's a hilarious nickname. Who made it up?
Congrats Jason! That's a really long name!
Let's ball with the Bishop.
I knew it was going to be a good night of ball when BOTH cheap team masters (Lester and Vince ;P) were on my team.
BTW, don't forget to sign up and save the date for the 3-on-3 tournament on April 27, 2010

Don't know who made that up - I wonder if that person even checks the site lol.
The Bishop will school us!
The only cheap team master we know is YOU! =p
But it was kind of hard to make fair teams not seeing them play before.
"Big Baby's Baby was supposed to be Tony's nickname" - it IS Tony's name lol. What are you smokin?
Big Baby to me is more like Antoine Walker! Now all he needs is that shimmy shake!
Posted by vince | Apr 11, 2010 06:44 PM |
It was a good night of ball, cuz we had 16 games! Cheap? I'm glad I didn't assist with making teams this week haha But agreed that it's hard this week considering we haven't played with 3 of the players. who would have guessed our guy would be the top scorer of the night before we started playing??
Who's tank again?

Hi All,
Sigh it's been so long since I've balled with you guys.....I think I've touched a bball once or twice since I've stopped playing at CCWB!
Thanks for all the congratulations....and yes the name does fit on the passport!! haha, but it doesn't fit on the Care Card!
It's only been 7 weeks and what a crazy life changer, but hopefully one day I can come back!
Hey isn't Stat Whore or someone there a lawyer? I need to do up a Will!!!.....man....look at what parenthood does......
Posted by danielcslau | Apr 14, 2010 05:27 AM |
Life changer indeed.
Yeah, I'm a lawyer... embarrassingly, I have yet to do my own Will. I better get on that soon too!
Hey Jason, if you want a precedent Will, let me know. One of my ex-coworkers sent it to me... I could forward it to you. All you have to do is make minor changes to the Will to fit your personal circumstances.

Mature talk from Rayban: "Roids and Yoga were wrestling down low. Pretty good night of ball because you (The Spirit of Rayban) didn't show to stink up the joint with your airballs and blown layups. Stay home from now on!"
Pipes: "Haha, don't worry, when you don't show I take over with airballs and blown layups. It was my worst night in a long time, and that's saying something considering how I've been playing of late. I must have blown 6 or 7. Two in one game didn't touch the rim. I basically screwed my team over every few possessions and the rest of the team would pick it back up. There should be a Yoga Rule, just like a Gretzky Rule for hockey pools. You can't pick him or only half his points count."

8. Franco dropping by to say hi. TT!
7. Hummer stating that he is free for the 3-on-3 but does not want to play 3-on-3 half-court. Lol.
6. Rayban with 9 points! Wow, he’s shooting again. JACKER!
5. Vinny B quick pull-up J (very Reggie Miller-like, as per God) for game-winner in game 8.
4. The Glove catching fire in game 6 - before that he was upset that nothing was going in for him and that he was having an off night. So much for that, so he became leading scorer!
3. Vintage Skytrain and Mickey Mouse in the last 2 games to improve their record to 0.500. Scroll back up for details.
2. Lim(b)s's huge block on God, all ball. Initially the crowd thought it was a foul.
1. Oh Henry beats his defender, but only to meet the hand of Yoga who made a monster block. YOGA BASKETBALL!
* It was Rayban that changed "Big Baby's friend" to "Big Baby's baby" last week lol. Of course it would take a mature person to do that!

Fun night of ball. I finally played on the cheap team... so that's what it feels like ;)
Z, if you didn't mention your misses, we wouldn't have noticed. All we saw was your strong D. Plus, nobody beats me in throwing up bricks... but that doesn't stop me from jacking up shots ;)
BTW, we will have 7 teams for the 3-on-3 tourney next week. All teams will play each other once in round robin to determine the seedings. The top team gets a buy to the semi finals. All other teams will play in the quarter finals. Seed 2 plays Seed 7. Seed 3 plays Seed 6. Seed 4 plays Seed 5. Quarter finals will be one game up to 15. Depending on time we have, semis and finals will either be one game up to 15 or best of 3 with games up to 13. Remember to get there on time so we could fit more games in!

omg my neck and upper back is so sore this morning. hope it doesn't get any worse. did anyone see how my legs went out in mid air? i keep thinking about it and i thought i should of fell forward instead of backwards. hunter was driving towards the basket and i jumped towards him. wen i picture it i thot i should be falling forward instead of backwards.
and zechy u didn't even take that many shots. ur layups are always over 3 people in the key, plus u had a least half dozen assists for me alone that led to layups.

Get well, Arms!
Wow, this is great. I wish the NBA had him in his prime (I know for one, Rayban would appreciate this clip). Oh, my friend told me # 11 on the USA team is actually David Robinson. I'm not so sure though:
http://
Roy and him are my fav goalies all-time:

ouch sounds like a painful landing arms! i'm sure you're good to go by now though spiderman! haha
CHEAP TEAMS! did whore GM this? did you guys make these teams to show O'Henry his place? cuz team 2 is CHEAP too!
but even though team 1 was cheap, surprisingly yoga and arms weren't the top 2 scorers in the team, it was the glove and jacker/whore! nice!

Sabonis was good...just looked like a big white log lumbering down the court amongst all the athletic younger players...so out of place...then catch a pass in the low post, waits for double team...then one hands a pass behind the back to a wide open cutter. How did he stack up against Rik Smits? Was he much more talented than Smits?
i think i was the only lower life form on that team that night...honestly, the rest of my team were playing quite well last week...
the fall that Arms took was pretty scary...good to see that the only thing ailing him at the 3on3 was not enough water and not knowing what to do with a cramped leg.
Posted by Admin Lex | Apr 28, 2010 06:13 PM |
Sabonis in his prime was really athletic. But by the time he got to the NBA he was already old. I never knew when Rik Smits' prime was - were they during the Reggie Miller / Michael Jordan days that one year went to game 7? Or was that an old Smits? Rayban might know.
I'm the lowest lifeform all-time. Don't steal my title!
Spiderman is already good to go right now - he has special powers!

Highlights
8. Bubble tea bet between The Spirit of Rayban and Yoga for the Lakers-Suns series. Yoga wins if Suns win the series or if the series goes 7.
7. A possible CC record of only 3 Regulars (Brad Miller, Native, The Spirit of Rayban) showed up tonight. I went through the entire wait list and still have 3 spots to spare.
6. Felix Tang isn't all too impressed with the Monte Ellis nickname given by the seniors at CC. I guess he wants to be Lebron, but I don't know...
http://www.nba.com/video/channels/tnt_overtime/2010/05/11/20100511_inside_4.nba/?ls=iref:nbahpt1
5. As Skytrain drives to the hoop in game 7, Alf: "That's pain..." Rob: "T-Pain!" "T" as in "train" lol!
4. Skytrain vs Yoga Part 1: in game 1, Yoga got hit by Skytrain on the lips accidentally; didn't call foul.
3. Skytrain vs Yoga Part 2: in one of the later games, Skytrain throws Yoga down to the floor with one arm (acccidental?) before grabbing a defensive rebound. Again, Yoga didn't call a foul. I guess he only calls fouls when blood is drawn.
2. Brian drives on Yoga and does a reverse lay-up in game 11. Yoga read the play all the way, but Brian was just too quick.
1. Brian's ridiculous split in game 11 on a double-team that included Yoga for a lay-up. As Yoga walks past half-court after the play, Alf: "Hey (Yoga), how you doin'?" But Yoga got the last laugh as he got best record.

sabonis is one of the best centers of all time with two bad wheels. his bball iq is unparalleled. smits had a nice touch dat extended to 16-18ft, but he was less dynamic on the court compared to sabonis. n a healthy sabonis in his prime would've destroyed a prime time smits (I personally think smits' prime was between 94-98 when he was an integral part of the pacers' offense). just my 2 cents.

Records would've been 4-3, 4-4, 3-4 for Native's team if Native called the foul when he got hacked while it was 12-10. The fact that he didn't led to a Monte Ellis fastbreak game-winning trifecta. Not that cheap I guess. =p
First we had "who is this guy?" Now we got "who are all these people?" Too funny lol!
Big Baby's baby = Tony
Matt = Native's Caucasian friend - it's his second night at CC
Rayban Killer = Tayza Da Layza's new nickname
Monte Ellis = Felix Tang's new nickname
I'm assuming you know the rest lol.
Brad Richards will also make his return next week to join you guys. Only difference is he hasn't balled for... almost a year?!
Lix's least favorite player to set foot in CC:

Oh, and please check the Photos section AGAIN lol.
Kobe has nothing to say about LeBron's demise.
Nike can put those puppets back on the shelf for another summer. Basketball historians anticipating the real-life answers to a delicious theoretical debate must keep waiting.
LeBron is gone, from the playoffs and maybe from Cleveland. James' long-anticipated NBA finals clash with Kobe Bryant is off again, and it's now distinctly possible it will never happen.
Yet if Bryant was even slightly disappointed to learn that James won't be showing up for a possible career-defining showdown, the Los Angeles Lakers star isn't letting on.
Bryant had almost nothing to say Friday about the Cleveland Cavaliers' playoff elimination, which ruined the best chance yet for a finals meeting with James.
"I don't know," Bryant said when asked what he thought of Boston's Game 6 victory, before an awkward silence with the phalanx of television cameras and digital recorders pointed at him in a back corner of the Lakers' training complex.
Surely Bryant realizes the anticipation was extra-high this spring, after the superstars' teams finished atop their respective conferences with two of the NBA's top three records. Nike certainly spent many months hoping for the showcase of two top clients, building that unusual advertising campaign around their puppet replicas.
But while James begins his offseason, Bryant is still standing -- albeit on a gimpy ankle -- after persevering through an injury-riddled year. The veteran star won't slow down for the Western Conference finals just because King James isn't waiting on the other side.
The series against the Phoenix Suns begins Monday night in Los Angeles.
"We have a huge challenge on our hands with the things that they run and how they play," Bryant said. "You have to control the pace and control the turnovers."
Bryant didn't practice again for the Lakers, giving him four straight days off the court following their second-round sweep of the Utah Jazz. Bryant needs every possible minute to rest his troublesome ankle, his arthritic finger and a few other maladies that have turned this season into a grind.
Bryant is expected back in practice Saturday along with center Andrew Bynum, who also had four days off to lower the swelling in his injured knee.
Bryant's teammates were a bit less guarded with their opinions on the seismic shift in the Eastern Conference following the Cavs' ouster, with Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol both expressing surprise at the result. The East final now matches the Lakers' last two opponents in the NBA finals.
"It's a little surprising, but obviously Boston has raised their level from the regular season," Gasol said. "We know they're a good team that's capable of doing that, and Cleveland is out."
Gasol also had a more practical interest: Cleveland would have had homecourt advantage in an NBA finals meeting after finishing with the league's best regular-season record. Orlando also won two more games than the Lakers in the regular season.
"It's good, because if you have to want to play someone in the finals, you want to have the homecourt advantage," Gasol said. "I guess it's good that one of the teams is out, but we still have to focus on getting there first."
For that, they'll need Bryant's best efforts against the high-scoring Suns and their improved defense. Bryant has scored at least 30 points in five straight playoff games, making more than 52 percent of his shots against Utah.
Although he rarely acknowledges it in words, Bryant has always seemed to bristle at the suggestion that his basketball pre-eminence is linked to anybody else.
His partnership with Shaquille O'Neal produced three straight championships and four NBA finals trips in its final five years, yet concluded with Shaq's abrupt departure amid widespread belief Bryant wanted to be the Lakers' lone superstar.
Bryant's teammates believe those titles, along with the ring he won last summer with a near-replica of his current team, will be the biggest difference between Bryant and James until LeBron puts a few pieces of jewelry on his ringless hand.

Ball is cancelled due to school play.
And on a disturbing note:

You could spend hours on this site checking out NBA players actual height, wingspan and standing reach. Most of the stuff listed on NBA.com or ESPN.com overstates players' height and doesn't include wingspan or standing reach.

Highlights
10. In game 1, Will with nice lay-up over Victor, and 1, twice!
9. In game 4, Rob throws an alley-oop just out of God's reach for The Spirit of Rayban. The pass was slightly behind him and all that back-bending from hot yoga really paid off on that play. He himself was surprised it went in.
8. Prior to that play in the same game, Whore crosses over on Rayban then undresses him with an underhand scoop. Vintage ownage right there!
7. A few possessions later, Whore deeks out Rayban on an up-and-under fake, and before he can attempt to bank home the short J, Rayban kicks Whore right in the chops. I think it's time Rayban get a Celtics jersey!
6. Lim(b)s headlocks Rayban Killer in game 13 off a loose ball. Get him a Celtics jersey too!
5. Brian's one-handed alley-opps off the top (game unknown, but after game 7).
4. Native does a look-away, through his legs from behind, spins then banks, all on Brad Miller in game 13!
3. Rayban's ridiculous tap-in in game 7 off a missed shot. Rodman-esque!
2. A CC record where a player had to "shoot for it" TWICE in the same night because his game-winning trifectas were supposedly not legit.
1. " L I N E ! "
2 of the many text messages I received:
"I really don't like that rule ("Honour System"). Calling a foul is fine because only the player involved can feel it. But we were on the spot and why would we need to lie? We won't have any benefits on making that call. This just motivates people to abuse the system to lie and cheat."
"We were focused on the line to make sure they don't argue because I totally expected it (after the first one). Some of the players on the opposing team weren't even there and just said we shouldn't say anything. I was pissed off not because of what was said to the bench, but why there is a right to reverse the correct call when the whole bench saw the exact same thing."

My first night back... I can't run/jump/shoot... and to top it off, I get beaten up by Ray!! ;) It's all good... basketball's a contact sport. My neck is a little sore, but no real injury.
Will and Brian are ringers!
Well done Vince! The look on Ray's face when you made the call was pricesless. First ever over-the-back call at CCWB was a fantom foul!
Posted by vince | May 27, 2010 09:50 AM |
HAHA yes, I posted yesterday actually, but looks like I might have closed the browser too fast. Anyways, I was apologizing to Ray! Sorry man. If you made no contact (which is likely the case), then I was totally wrong. I think if the guy jumped too and your arm hit his head, then it would still be a foul. I think.
Anyways, I feel bad for being a cheater, sorry man haha! At least you know I didn't cheat on purpose, I was just ill-informed. And apparently it's not just me: www.infosports.com/basketball/arch/2287.htm
I use to ref when I was in Gr.11 for the younger kids, I'm just glad I never called over-the-back before HAHA

2. Vince was too busy describing Aaron's high dribble in game 8 and forgot to play D!
1. Native accidentally calls The Spirit of Rayban with his cell phone at 7:20PM. After hearing some MSN sounds, The Spirit of Rayban calls Native at his home number at 7:30PM and asked him why he is home. Native then says "I'm coming now." I wonder when he planned on showing up originally. The Spirit of Rayban also re-confirmed if his friend Matt was coming. Native: "Yup." Well guess what? He was a no show. I still had people on the wait list...
Rip off, i.e. CHEAP:
"I was in my friend's car yesterday, dropping off another friend to catch a plane. When we reached the top of the ramp (upper level, Departure), we were stopped by police officers (together with a few cars, Taxis included). We were told that we were speeding at 40 km/hr., up the ramp, which had a limit of 20 km/hr. They said that it should be $350 fine, however, base on the driver's clean record of my friend, he was penalized for $138 instead. I dont know whether that sign was new or the speed limit was reduced recently. There were lots of drivers caught by surprise. Please be careful next time you go to the airport."

LOL. Now that's a Stat Whore! Alf had so many buckets on Tuesday night he couldn't remember how many points he scored.
Hightlight #2:
Rayban (a.k.a. Spirit of Felix) banking home two game winning treys... both of them against our team. Robert Horry style.
Stupid police officers trying to fill their monthly quota of traffic tickets.

You play for the love of the game. If Jordan played for the stats, he wouldn't have played baseball in '94 and '95.
Oh, no wonder he called me and left me a voice message asking me where the stats are.
I didn't know Greg Ostertag hits treys. Either he worked on his banks a lot with God or somebody was playing Thun_er D on him.

Cheap teams! Thanks for asking. I could be better. Totally need a cheap team my first night back, whenever that's gonna be.
PP is definitely a legend - Finals MVP!
Do you know when Luis is coming back? He didn't tell any of us he's on vacation. I still have him on the list...
Sorry about the delay on the stats. I'll post them up sometime during Canada Day weekend.
One of Doc Rivers' sons is better than both of Jordan's son... =(
Austin Rivers is the 2nd best high school player in the country:

Cheap team? No Problem! In your absence, Admin Arms has taken up the slack ;) When you come back, just ask to be in Justin's team.
I have no idea when Luis is coming back. He just told me he was going to HK. Maybe he's going to find a girl there, get married and never come back! Btw, you still have Elliott on the list, lol.
