Highlights
- Edison jacked up 4 trifectas for game-winner in game 2. He was way off on his first 3 but finally made the 4th one!
- B.P. Kris Kros through 2 guys and in. Jump, jump! (Game unknown)
- Victor nice block on Will K cutting through the key with stop and pull-up J in game 10.
- Austin cross-court pass off the rim to B.P. for lay-up (Lebronze to Wade) in game 11.
- Will to Jay to Victor in game 14. I guess those were 2 quick and/or touch passes, that's why it made the list.
- Jay Chow does Shake and Bake. And while everyone watches him, VC cuts backdoor for a lay-up in game 16.
- The REAL highlights - please check the Photos section! Got 2 new ones in separate folders!

By the way, why hasn't Rob balled for so long?

Comment Posted by Timeless Apr 12, 2011 08:03 PM

Hey hey, it's not that cheap cuz I'm on that team!

That highlight with Will and Jay was, Jay caught the pass immediately passed it to me with a two hand no look, over his own head pass. Luckily I made that layup cuz it was a SUPER hard layup...

If you're wondering why it was difficult, cuz nobody was around me...

Yes, where is Rob?

Comment Posted by Admin Lex Apr 13, 2011 02:38 AM

CHEAP!

That line right there should be in the highlights lol!

See someone you know at 0:58? http://

Comment Posted by Admin Lix Apr 13, 2011 06:22 AM

yeah we had 17 in total and one sellout. so there were only 16 ppl.. that sorta screwed up the teams... ah well. next time it should be better.

currently we have 18 ppl on the reg list and a full house this thursday.

I will be sending out the invite early as its canucks playoff season and im sure there will be lotsa ppl wanting to watch the games.

Ferd was massive that nite... dominated over all the big guys esp edison who was injured midway with an elbow to the eye.

he's ok tho and will be playing this week

Comment Posted by Admin Lex Apr 13, 2011 01:26 PM

Just pray the Canucks games don't fall on a Thursday!

Austin didn't do that bad too it seems. Another ringer?

Arms, no worries about the highlights! I got you covered! Check out the "Off the Court" section in the Photos Album! Got a new photo! =D

Also have a non-highlight photo with Brian and Rob!

The 7-4 team is definitely a cheap team!

But Pipes, you weren't there to see Eric Lo in action! =(

Comment Posted by danielcslau May 09, 2011 10:59 AM

My condolences to all the Lakers fans out there. Pau Gasol was honestly not your problem. Dirk was too good.

Comment Posted by Admin Lex May 10, 2011 03:55 AM

Swept! And such an ugly way to close the chapter for Phil. Pau Ga-soft is back! He certainly didn't play like that last post season. Both Kidd and Disco Dirk deserve a ring, and I see a 2006 rematch all over again! I want the (Vancouver) Grizzlies to win, but whichever team wins in that series, I still think Dallas is the better team. I don't think the Bulls or Hawks are much of a threat to the Heat (yes, I'm calling off the Cs already).

GO CANUCKS GO!

Comment Posted by danielcslau May 10, 2011 07:45 AM

Yeah, Heat/Mavs final! I'm going to cheer for the Mavs this time cuz they got Peja Stojakovic ;)

Honestly, Dirk really deserves a ring this time after all that he's been through and how hard he's worked to get even better after failures.

It's tough to fault Gasol... He got burnt out at the beginning of the season with Bynum out and never recovered... then his fiancee left him.

Comment Posted by yyyello May 10, 2011 06:36 PM

surprise surprise...CC's Jacker cheering for fellow Jackers of the NBA...hahaha :D

how about a grizzlies/hawks final?

Comment Posted by Admin Lex May 12, 2011 12:40 AM

You're gonna sell out on D-Wade? Really?

With the size of his bank account, he can do better than Silvia Lopez Castro. Give Eva a call! =D

Zach Randolph has gone from a jacker to a playoff performer! Didn't know that day would come!

Both teams are down 3-2. But hey, it ain't over till it's over!

The Hawks are a true center away from being a powerhouse. Hello Dwight Howard? Ah... but most likely D12 is gonna follow in the OTHER Superman's footsteps and join the Lakers.

Comment Posted by Admin Lex May 12, 2011 04:34 AM

Oh, and check this out: "Miami's elimination of Boston guaranteed that we’ll have an NBA Finals that doesn’t include Shaquille O’Neal, Tim Duncan or Kobe Bryant for the first time since 1998. They are the three players that define their generation. Their faces make up the Mount Rushmore of the league since 1998. No one starred brighter on the biggest stage as much as — or more often than — those three future Hall of Famers."

LOL! Support for my brotherhood of Jackers!! Dirk scored 48 points on 15 FGAs yesterday... I wish I could jack like that!!

I'm not selling out D-Wade... It's just that Disco Dirk is my new favourite player.

RAYBAN!!!!

Comment Posted by Admin Lex May 18, 2011 01:39 PM

Yes, I got it. Do you have the stats for May 12 too?

Disco Dirk! He got that many points with so few attempts because he hit 20+ FTs!

I'm surprised the Bulls won by 21 in game 1. I'll be even more surprised if they win the series! Whore, you MUST hate Taj Gibson now LOL! That dunk was nasty! Series is tied at 1 now.

You want stats? Here you go!

"Mavs center Tyson Chandler is a nightmare matchup for Kendrick Perkins.

The 7-foot-1 Chandler is one of the most athletic big men in the league, and Perkins, a more plodding, traditional center, has had problems containing him.

In three games, Perkins has scored 15 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked three shots in 82 minutes. Chandler scored the same number of points in Game 2 alone, and in Game 3, Chandler pulled down one more rebound than Perkins has corralled all series.
The evidence runs even deeper.

In Perkins' 82 minutes of playing time, the Thunder has been outscored by 32 points. With Perk on the bench, the Thunder has outscored the Mavs by 23. Furthermore, with Chandler on the court, Perkins' plus/minus per 36 minutes is -17.7.

Perkins has the worst plus/minus of any Thunder player in this series."

In Chicago, Scottie Pippen's name rhymes with winning.

Six NBA titles have a way of making that happen.

But Bulls fans had to cringe this morning when Pippen suggested, on ESPN Radio's Mike And Mike In the Morning, that LeBron James, and not his former teammate, Michael Jordan, could end up being the greatest all-around player the league has ever seen.

No, seriously, Pippen said it:

"Michael Jordan is probably the greatest scorer to ever play in the game, but I may go as far to say LeBron James is probably the greatest player to ever play the game. Not only can he score at will, but he keeps everybody involved. You have to be on your Ps and Qs because everybody is a threat to score when he's on the floor. Not only that, LeBron James will dominate the game on the offensive end and he's able to do it on the defensive end as well. He can get in those passing lanes and dominate the game."

You lost us at "but," Scottie.

And maybe it's a generational thing. Maybe we've romanticized the Jordan era the same way our predecessors did the Magic-Bird era of the NBA or the old school crowd did the Celtics' dynasty.

LeBron over Jordan right now, before LeBron actually gets his first ring?

That's a tough sell here at the hideout. We know it can't be going over well in Chicago. Not after last night.

What say you?

Comment Posted by danielcslau May 27, 2011 12:18 PM

LOL. Rayban went extinct 3 years ago? You mean he existed? He was basically invisible on the court though! ;)

Pippen's on crack. Wilt Chamberlain was the greatest scorer to ever play... not Jordan. Greatest player to ever play should be defined by number of championships, but with consideration to the teams that you played on. Michael Jordan never played on a CHEAP TEAM like Bill Russell, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Lester, etc. ;) Lebron can never be the greatest of all time because he never carried his Cleveland teams to a championship and then decided to play on a CHEAP TEAM to chase a championship.

BTW, remember when I told you guys that Carlos Boozer sucks? Apparently, some ESPN sports writer agrees with me:

http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/columns/story?columnist=wilbon_michael&id=6598222

Rose is going to get better because he's going to work at it, probably more fanatically this summer than he did last. Thibodeau said of Rose, "He'll study, he'll prepare, he'll get better..."

But one has to wonder about Carlos Boozer and whether work will be the answer for him. His 1-for-6 shooting performance in Game 5 was pathetic. He recorded nearly as many personal fouls (four) as points (five). Players from other teams around the league privately ridiculed Boozer for being less effective than 38-year-old Kurt Thomas, who makes a fraction of what Boozer makes. The Miami players, while saying nothing privately, couldn't wait for the locker-room doors to close to congratulate Bosh (20 points, 10 rebounds, four blocked shots) for torching Boozer, who had the nerve to refuse to include Bosh in any discussion about Miami's talented trio ("big two," Boozer said repeatedly). Bosh proved to be not only a damn good player but also a great teammate in that he continually suffered insults and indignities but shut his mouth and played at a higher level than some of the knuckleheads criticizing him. Bosh is a keeper. The Bulls had better find a couple of more guys, whatever position they play, just like him, guys short on excuses and long on performance.

Nice line on Rayban! So true! =D

I'm rarely on the cheap team! My winning percentage would back that up! =D

Sweet forearm though by Boozer on LeBronze - Paul Ming-esque! =D

Rose is so young, but he faces a problem that a young Jordan had - he needs a Pippen!

Pippen backs off LeBron comments:

Scottie Pippen, Michael Jordan's longtime teammate, raised eyebrows Friday morning when he ‏said Heat superstar LeBron James "may be the greatest player to ever play the game."

The Hall of Famer's comments on ESPN Radio's "Mike and Mike in the Morning" drew a fierce response on Twitter, as many fans were incredulous at the perceived slight toward Jordan.

Pippen clarified Friday afternoon, tweeting that he does not believe James has eclipsed Jordan - yet.

"Don't get me wrong, MJ was and is the greatest. But LeBron could by all means get to his level someday," said Pippen, who was courtside for the Heat's five-game Eastern Conference finals triumph as a Bulls TV analyst.

In his original comments, the 45-year-old, who won six NBA titles alongside Jordan, called his former teammate the best scorer to ever play the game.

"Michael Jordan is probably the greatest scorer to play the game, but I may go as far as to say LeBron James may be the greatest player to ever play the game because he is so potent offensively that not only can he score at will but he keeps everybody involved."

He added, "No guy on the basketball court is not a threat to score with LeBron James out there. Not only will LeBron dominate from the offensive end as well, but he's also doing it on the defensive end, which really makes him the complete package. He's able to get in those passing lanes, shoot those gaps and create transition opportunities where he is pretty much unstoppable."

Horace Grant, who won three titles alongside Jordan and Pippen with the Bulls, declined to back up Pippen.

"Pip is my man, and we will always be close but I totally disagree," Grant said on ESPN 1000 in Chicago. "LeBron is going to be one of the top players to ever play the game. But Michael Jeffrey Jordan, who we bumped heads with at times, is I think in my era, the best who ever played the game."

On Thursday night James put the finishing touches on a dominant series, leading the Heat to an NBA Finals date against the Dallas Mavericks.

James led a late 18-3 run to break Bulls' fans hearts with a series-clinching 83-80 win at the United Center. James had 28 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists, including the game-tying three-pointer and a jumper to put the Heat up for good with 29 seconds left.

It was also James' suffocating defense on Bulls star Derrick Rose that helped the Heat reach their second NBA Finals in franchise history.

I normally don't bother with these types of discussions because it doesn't add any new revelations.

First off, I'm not a believer that it's possible to rank players on "greatness" on team sports. When you're great, you're great, but you also need teammates to start producing results. If it's an individual sport like Golf or Bowling, that's when you can clearly analyze which player is greater than another.

While I don't share the American's obsession with ranking players, I'm going to defend Pippen on this one because I don't see anything wrong with that he said. When I first heard about this, I didn't think too much of it, but a lot of people took offense to it. This happens every time there's a "Jordan" discussion.

Pippen said LBJ "may" be the greatest player to ever play the game. Here's the key word. LBJ career isn't over yet but has the potential. At the end of this day, May 28th, 2011, anything anyone says about LBJ's career is a total guess. He could be a bust the rest of the way, he could start putting the stats and accolades together for a great career, the point is nobody knows. So why are people up in arms as of this date? Why not wait until it's all said and done before even talking about this or seriously take these assessments to heart?

My favorite example is Grant Hill. Everyone remembers Grant Hill right? In his first few years, he was getting all these unfair Jordan comparisons, and people at one time called him the next Jordan. Now we know we know what happened to his career. We should always wonder what would have happen if Grant didn't have those ankle issues. Or what if Jordan couldn't fully recover from his foot injury. It's so easy to judge Jordan's greatness because all that is in the past, LBJ is in the present.

Jordan's got his 6 championships because he had Pippen. The same can be said about Pippen. He has 6 championships because of Jordan. Don't forget guys, it's a team sport. I'm going to go further and say that if Horance Grant wasn't there, they wouldn't have gotten the first 3-peat and if Rodman wasn't there, they wouldn't have gotten the second 3-peat. How great was Grant? How great was Rodman? LBJ knows he needs to surround himself with other talent so he did it (I may rant about this).

Another obsession I don't agree on is to measure greatness by number of championships. There are many players I consider to be great and didn't win. Karl Malone, John Stockton, Reggie Miller, and Steve Nash (knock on wood, he still has a change right? RIGHT?!) are to me, great players and no I do not rank them.

I don't think there is a definitive way to measure greatness which is why anyone that says this (insert name)is the greatest player is purely an opinion. People don't have to agree on it, but need to remember to take it for what it is, someone's subjective opinion.

Jordan should be humbled by his own legacy. Every current great player is always going to be compared to him. There will never be another Michael Jordan AND there will never be another Lebron James. Of course I'm only saying that based on his 7-8 years in the league. By the way, what happened to Kobe? There won't be another Kobe as well, or Steve Nash!

Enjoy the moment and enjoy basketball.

Where is the "like" button? =D

Comparing players, especially in different eras, is unfair but I guess it's a natural thing to do among people that watch sports regularly. We even do that at CC ourselves... (e.g. Is Top Dawg I better or Top Dawg II better? =p)

Jordan played in a tougher era when hand-checking was allowed. Just imagine all the physicality he had to deal with starting 30 feet away from the basket. And I'm sure everyone remembers the good old Detroit and New York defence (non-Thun_er D).

We can all agree on this though: Jordan and Lebron are the ONLY non-bigmen in NBA history that can dominate the game with the impact of a truly great bigman (Duncan, Hakeem, Kareem, Shaq). On both offense and defense, these two are the ONLY perimeter players ever to have such impact on their team. You can give both scrubs around them and they can still make them look like pseudo-contenders and go deep in the playoffs every year. These are the only 2 perimeter players in history that can do this.

Nash must go to a contender (i.e. cheap team) to get himself a chip. No way he get one with his current squad.

Go Dallas! Beat that Cheap Team!

Like I said earlier, for those people that really like to discuss individual greatness should be talking about the sport of Golf. Level playing field, everyone plays on the same course, deals with varying weather conditions through out a tourney, and they don't have teammates to rely on or place blame on. Unless the caddy counts. Then maybe they'll talk about who's the greatest caddy? You're also able to compare golf players in different eras since they play on the same golf courses every year. Golf clubs were improved over the years and I think that's about the only change. Golf balls and holes remained the same size and there's no cheap defense right?

Specifically for basketball, there were so many rules changes in addition to the types of teams you would go up against. Illegal defense, shot clock, key, semi circle in the key, three point line, inbounding the ball into the back court. All these changes over the years just add to the subjectiveness of comparing two players from different eras.

I forgot to mention Jordan also had in my opinion another great player, Toni Kukoč. How awesome was he and how different would the Bulls be without him? Steve Kerr too. Those Bulls teams had pretty awesome lineups.

Dallas has less overall talent but I think it's going to be an even series because Dirk is playing at such an unbelievable level. As a fan of basketball, that's all I can ask for, two great teams playing against each other and taking each others heads off.

Wow, that play at the 1:54 mark was amazing.

A tall guy that can make all sorts of shots and is also 3-point threat, who does he remind you of?

Comment Posted by danielcslau May 29, 2011 10:01 AM

Nice. We actually have a legitimate discussion on this board.

"I don't share the American's obsession with ranking players"... agreed for the most part. Tough to rank players, especially if they don't play in the same era, because it's largely subjective. Also, comparing players from different era is difficult and unfair... particularly if you compared stats... because the game evolves over time and rules and schemes are different. The only way to truly compare players is by comparing how well they did against their competition. Jordan was way better than his peers... Guys like Miller, Barkley, Malone, Drexler, etc. had no chance. Lebron is not much (if any) better than his peers... Kobe, Dwade, Howard, etc. are all quite close to him. Therefore, I cannot consider him an outlier. You can only be considered one of the greatest if you are such an outlier that you beat all your competition... and Lebron can't say that.

I also agree that this is a team sport, and that you need your teammates to play well to win a championship... that MJ is not winning a championship if he played for the Vancouver Grizzlies. BUT, to define a player by championships, most people work on the premise that the all-star has a half decent team. And that's what Pippen, Rodman, Kukoc, Grant gave Jordan... a playoff calibre team. Most superstars have other stars to play with... Malone had Stockton and Hornysack. Steve Nash had Amare, Matrix, Joe Johnson, Dirk Nowitzki, etc. If your team REALLY sucks like the Grizzlies, no one will hold it against you. But if you want to be an all time great (i.e. a true outlier), even if you only have a half decent team, that's no excuse to not get it done.

"Another obsession I don't agree on is to measure greatness by number of championships." Once again, I agree with this statement. Barkley, Malone are great players... and the lack of a championship does not mean they are not great. BUT what it does mean is that they are not the greatest of all time, because someone who is a top 3 player of all time will be so much better than their peers that they couldn't help it but to win a few championships. If you are a top 50 player of all time, it's very conceivable that you lose to other top 50 players... it doesn't mean you don't belong in the top 50... it just means that you are not at the top of the top 50.

Go Dallas Go!!

Go Dallas! So I can call him LeBronze for at least another year! =D

Victor, that makes you evil! And you gotta support your favorite player's buddy Disco Dirk!

Here's another great player that would be hard if not impossible to compare because of era differences. This is from wiki so it may not be trustworthy, but I think this stuff should be accurate.

"Robertson is regarded as one of the greatest players in NBA history, a triple threat who could score inside, outside and also was a stellar playmaker. His rookie scoring average of 30.5 points per game is the third highest of any rookie in NBA history, and Robertson averaged more than 30 points per game in six of his first seven seasons.[1] Only two other players in the NBA have had more 30+ point per game seasons in their career. Robertson was the first player to average more than 10 assists per game, doing so at a time when the criteria for assists were more stringent than today.[3] Furthermore, Robertson is the only guard in NBA history to ever average more than 10 rebounds per game, doing so three times. In addition to his 1964 regular season MVP award, Robertson won three All-Star Game MVPs in his career (in 1961, 1964, and 1969). He has the all-time highest scoring average in the All-Star Game for players participating in four or more games (the league standard for the record) at 20.5 points per game. He ended his career with 26,710 points (25.7 per game, ninth-highest all time), 9,887 assists (9.5 per game) and 7,804 rebounds (7.5 per game).[1] He led the league in assists six times, and at the time of his retirement, he was the NBA's all-time leader in career assists and free throws made, and was the second all-time leading scorer behind the legendary Wilt Chamberlain.[3]

Robertson also set yardsticks in versatility. If his first five seasons are strung together, Robertson averaged a triple-double over these 400+ games, averaging an incredible 30.3 points, 10.4 rebounds and 10.6 assists.[15] For his career, Robertson had 181 triple-doubles, a record that has never been approached.[16] These numbers are even more astonishing if it is taken into account that the three-point shot did not exist when he played, which was introduced by the NBA in the 1979–80 season and benefits sharpshooting backcourt players. In 1967–68, Robertson also became the first of only two players in NBA history to lead the league in both scoring average and assists per game in the same season (also achieved by Nate Archibald). The official scoring and assist titles went to other players that season, however, because the NBA based the titles on point and assist totals (not averages) prior to the 1969–70 season. Robertson did, however, win a total of six NBA assist titles during his career. For his career, Robertson shot a high .485 field goal average and led the league in free-throw percentage twice—in the 1963–64 and 1967–68 seasons.

Robertson is recognized by the NBA as the first legitimate "big guard", paving the way for other over-sized backcourt players like Magic Johnson.[3] Furthermore, he is also credited to have invented the head fake and the fadeaway jump shot, a shot which Michael Jordan later became famous for.[17] For the Cincinnati Royals, now relocated and named the Sacramento Kings, he scored 22,009 points and 7,731 assists, and is all-time leader in both statistics for the combined Royals / Kings teams."

So this guy had some major handicaps. No 3-point line, harder assists, and before him apparently there wasn't head fakes and fade aways.

Lol! Yeah! I wanna be a bad guy! Cuz evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

It's perfect, the Heat colours are black and red, they should play Imperial March as their entrance music.

I'm actually happy if Dirk wins it too. Whoever loses, I win! muahahaha!

The Big O was sensational. His numbers will never ever be duplicated. I Youtubed videos of him a while back. How I wish they have those games in HD because those clips don't do him justice.

Taking a look at the Finals from both sides...

DALLAS - Derrick Rose is out. So are Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. In all, nine of the 12 players from last year's U.S. Men's National Team made the playoffs. And now, only one remains.

Tyson Chandler arrives at his first NBA Finals with a chance to win to championships in the span of nine months.

If the Dallas Mavericks win these Finals, Chandler would be the first player to ever follow a World Championship with an NBA championship the following year. And he'd be just the second to win both within any 12-month span, following Lamar Odom, who won both in a three-month span last year.

The U.S. Team's undefeated run to gold at the World Championship in Istanbul clearly had a positive effect on most of the players involved. Several of them followed it up with career years, especially when you take the defensive end of the floor into account.

"We had the opportunity to play against the best of the best," Chandler said Monday, "not in just games, but compete every day in practice, to take things from their games. It was a big help."

For Chandler, the carryover from his time with USA Basketball to his season with the Mavericks went beyond that. Dealing with ankle and toe injuries, he had missed 68 games over the previous two seasons. So his first priority last summer was getting healthy.

So the World Championship and the two training camps leading into it provided Chandler with the opportunity to get some competitive basketball under his belt and build on something as he went to camp with the Mavs.

"I thought it was a great opportunity to really see where I was," Chandler said. "Knowing I was able to get out there and compete and last two training camps and compete in every practice, the confidence grew in myself and [helped me understand] that I was back to 100 percent."

That's not all. The bonus advantage to playing last summer was learning zone defense from the master, Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim. The U.S. Team didn't play a lot of zone, but they did use it whenever their opponent took the ball out under its own basket. And this season, zone defense has been a key to the Mavs' success.

"I was able to learn a lot from Coach Boeheim and understand what he's trying to accomplish in the zone, the communication factor and movement that you should have," Chandler said.

In the past, Mavs owner Mark Cuban has been outspoken against his players playing for their national team. But there's no doubt that Chandler's participation in last year's World Championship was beneficial for the U.S. Team, for Chandler himself, and for the Mavs.

MIAMI - They are reunited again, playing for a championship, wondering how they can possibly beat Dirk Nowitzki when 11 years ago they couldn't even beat Mateen Cleaves.

Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem were much younger, and definitely healthier, when they played for the University of Florida and lost to Cleaves and Michigan State in the 2000 NCAA title game. Right after that devastating defeat, they went their separate ways, Miller to the NBA and Haslem on a basketball journey that began in Europe.

Last summer they were free agents, and it took some financial sacrifice by both to arrive here together.

"We talked about being teammates again at some point, joked about it, but never thought it would come about," said Haslem. "Now, not only do I get to play for a championship, I get to play with one of my best friends."

Just like at Florida, they find themselves playing important roles - in a sense, anyway. The Heat obviously are all about the Big Three. But it may take more than that to beat Dirk and Dallas. It may take something from Haslem and/or Miller, a pair of X-factors who spent much of the year in rehab.

"Strange, isn't it?" said Haslem.

Yes, strange, indeed, how fate churns and turns. The Heat envisioned Miller and UD and the Big Three as a strong five-man unit that would arrive at this point, the NBA Finals. Instead, Miami made it this far largely without much from Miller (wrist surgery) and Haslem (foot surgery). Which was fine against the Sixers, a broken-up Celtics team and the Baby Bulls. Not Dallas, with a superstar and a veteran team.

Haslem and Miller returned in the East finals against Chicago and were a big boost for Miami. And now Haslem will be asked to supply defensive help on Nowitzki. Miller must do his best Dirk imitation by knocking down jumpers. If they do that, then it will make life easier for LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. It will bring Miami that much closer to a title.

"Our job is to do more of the little things," said Miller. "Me and UD are easy to play with. We can spread the floor for those guys."

If Miller makes the Mavericks pay for doubling on LeBron, then you know what? This. Series. Is. Over. Same if Haslem mixes it up inside. If they don't, then the series swings in Dallas' favor. Haslem knows that.

"It's gonna take more of a team effort, at this stage," he said. "We saw what Dallas is capable of doing."

Haslem already has a championship ring, from 2006. Miller has made it out of the first round for the first time here, his 11th season. Both will take the floor Tuesday night with a stinging memory from a decade ago.

"We have some unfinished business here in Florida," Miller said.

Glen Rice: "I thought Scottie Pippen was drunk when he said that," Rice said. "There's no way. Michael Jordan's the best player ever, come on. LeBron's a great player, I'm not trying to take anything from him. But you talk about someone who had the will to not only take over a game, but to bring his teammates up to another level? Michael Jordan, hand's down. It's not even close. And if there is someone close, it's not LeBron, it would be Kobe Bryant."

Disco Dirk = God! Yay, another new nickname for Lix!

"Maybe Scottie Pippen was looking into one of those funhouse mirrors that distorts the image and that’s why he didn’t recognize himself.

Never mind measuring up LeBron James’ greatness to Michael Jordan. Former Bulls teammate Steve Kerr says ...the more accurate comparison is – you’re gonna love this – to Pippen himself.

“The irony to me is that LeBron is not Michael. LeBron is actually Scottie,” Kerr said Monday on “The Waddle & Silvy Show” in Chicago. “He’s so similar to Scottie in that defensively he was just a monster, could guard anybody, really more of a point forward than scoring guard. Scottie always loved to distribute the ball. That’s really where LeBron’s preference is.

“Phil Jackson used to call Scottie a ‘sometimes shooter.’ Sometimes they would go in, sometimes they wouldn’t. That’s how it is with LeBron. He’s a great talent and a great player but you can see his flaws as a basketball player. He doesn’t have an offensive game that he can rely on: no low-post game, no mid-range jump shot so when the game really gets tough he has a hard time finding easy baskets and getting himself going. That’s what Michael did in his sleep so that’s why the comparison is wrong.”

So in the aftermath of Miami’s loss in the Finals, the disappearing act in the fourth quarters and Kerr’s observation, what are the chances that a certain someone looks into a mirror he finds LeBron staring back?

What do you think? Is he King James, Prince Pippen or the Duke of Earl?"

Alok Pattani's has wayyyyyy too much time on his hands. But I did like that piece! =D

Kobe saw Lebron yesterday and asked him if he had change for a dollar.

Lebron gave him 75 cents.

Kobe asked: "That's it?"

Lebron replied: "Sorry, I don't have a 4th quarter."

Oh man,

That 75 cents Lebron joke is hilarious!!

i'm not sad about lebron losing, i'm more sad that the canucks lost.

Comment Posted by yyyello Jun 20, 2011 07:19 PM

hahaha...some nice stuff...haven't been on here for awhile...love that Dizzy clip and the lebron joke! back into bball life again this week...what's more sad than the canucks losing is how the canucks fans lost their minds and all decided to become morons all at the same time....sad...kudos to all those who helped out during and after the riot...

glad Lix...i mean, Disco Dirk...finally came thru with a ring...haven't really followed his career but seems like a likeable guy...use to love Jason Kidd (wasn't he "The Owl" at one point? what a weird nickname if i'm not dreaming) too...until he apparently became a wife-beater...or am i dreaming there too? He had the best shoes of all time too...maybe those and the Jordans from around '97.

as a casual fan of the nba...that lebron comparison to Pippen seems very accurate...one of my favourite players of all time...liked lebron too until "The Decision"...

That Alok Pattani article is way too much to digest...just happy to hear that Kobe is in the rearview mirror and not leading the pack...

"... all decided to become morons all at the same time..." In my eyes, I think a lot of them just use it as a good excuse to do it at the time, knowing the amount of people vs the amount of cops, the chances of them being caught isn't that great. For the imbeciles that decided to rob the convenient store cashiers without wearing a mask, I hope all of them served time! Thanks to the volunteers, most of the streets were restored to its normal state the next morning - minus the glass windows.

Third time is a charm for Kidd after losing to the Lakers and Spurs in 2002 and 2003 respectively. Remember the 3 Js (along with Jim Jackson and Jamal Mashburn) in Dallas in the 90s? They split up because Jim was trying to steal Jason's girl/wife! I wonder if it's the same person that he beat. Actually I don't even know if he beat her. Maybe Whore or Rayban knows, and help out on "The Owl" too lol.

I think you are referring to these. Good stuff:

Kobe's new coach is LeQueen's ex-coach. Don't think they will be running the triangle much anymore.

I was looking at mock drafts online and came across this. Pretty funny if you ask me:

"Kyle Singler (Forward, Duke) - A shooter who shoots, shoots, and can shoot. He also sometimes rebounds."

I like the "can shoot" at the end of the first sentence. Because in no way does it suggest they go in LOL!

Comment Posted by yyyello Jun 26, 2011 10:40 AM

yes, those are the Jordans i was thinking of! The first time i recall shoes hit $200 mark...and the only guy in my hs that had them was a super rich chinese kid from mainland...son of a diplomat i think...and 15 yrs later, i still wouldn't pay $200 for a pair of basketball shoes...

Kyle Singler's scouting report reminds me of Thunder D... :D

Yes, those are Air Jordan 11. Best looking shoes ever, but honestly they don't feel comfortable when balling in them.

Luis announced his return to bball this week. I am now waiting for Hor to reply. Alf called me up already and said he wont be playing this wk because he is afraid of Luis

Wow, B.P.'s the same level as Luis? Too bad I'm stuck at Rayban's level, sigh...

Apple is making a limited edition Lebron James iPhone... but it only vibrates because it has no rings!

Comment Posted by danielcslau Jul 01, 2011 02:37 AM

After reading Zechy's post, I did a google search on Jason Kidd and wife... he really was a wife-beater!!! Yikes! Seems like his wife is manipulative and abusive too though!

Agreed that Air Jordans 11 are the best looking shoes of all time... don't you have a pair Lester? I'm waiting to buy a pair when they bring back the retros a few years later.

Lots of old school ballers coming back to play... I can't wait till I get unbanned.

Are you in a HK basketball league Lester? It's nuts that they keep track of so many stats!! See, I'd be passing the ball so much more if we had stats for assists!

Comment Posted by Admin Lex Jul 01, 2011 07:38 AM

I got several pairs in different colors. I think the concords are coming out at the end of the year, but nothing's firm yet.

You might have to write a 10-page letter explaining to your wife why you should be unbanned. Hope she doesn't beat you up! =p

Actually 2 leagues: One on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at Hong Kong side, and another on either Saturday or Sunday at Kowloon side.

Hey, I'd just keep passing the rock to you to rack up the assists! If Top Dawg Sr and Jr come back, I'll pass to them too! =D

Definitely will not pass to Rayban! =D

Happy Canada Day everyone!
