July 7
Welcome 42-year-old Vincent Remedios to CCWB! Vincent found us through the CC Church paper. Vincent played for all 3 teams - he joined whichever team that won the previous game...
(5-2) Edison, Emerson, Luis, Mike
(3-3) Danny, Hunter, Lil Girl, Zechy
(1-4) Erick, Felix, Justin, Whore
Game 1 Ed beat D 14-11 Emerson

Game 8 Ed beat D 13-9 Emerson
Em-2-3-2 M-2-2 Ed-2 * LG-3 D-2 H-2 Z-2
Game 9 Ed beat Er 7-6 Edison - Yes, this is not a typo. That means the scorekeeper thought 7+6=13 (the total points for one team) or the game was cut short because it was 10PM. Let me know what happened lol...

Highlights
4. Vincent bounce passes to himself through Mike's leg in game 1. Damn, some And1 action going on at CC!
3. Edison's big block on Hunter in game 3.
2. Felix's shot off the top of the backboard for his third 3-point attempt in a row (I think that's a sign you're NOT a 3-point shooter lmfao). This created a fastbreak the other way, with Luis on Felix. And Felix redeems himself by blocking Luis's lay-up out of bounds. I'm sure Luis traveled before the lay-up! =p
1. Felix: "im still sore from tues... 4 on 4 is so tough on my body"
Whore: "you can't possibly be sore... you were just a lazy jacker on tuesday."

Highlights
9. Lil Girl's friend Rob really really REALLY looks like Simon lol!
8. Justin scores 9 points on Felix in game 9. Why is this a highlight? This is a commonplace! =D
7. Felix: "I can't breath anymore!" in game 1 with the score tied at 6... ouch lol!
6. Emerson: "Schooled by a kid!" after Rob drives past Felix for the 3rd straight time in game 11 lol~
5. After Mike says "Get off me!" to Lil Girl in game 11, who was trying to strip him after getting a defensive rebound, Victor screamed out the exact same thing while trying to run a fastbreak after he himself got a defensive board on the other end. Victor however fumbles the ball away as he passed the half-court line lmfao~
4. Somebody wrote Lester "aka Jacker" on the stats sheet. We got way too many Jackers for me to be called that...
3. Lil Girl's block on Thunder's fadeaway J, which is the slowest fadeaway you'll ever see in your life, especially this one, which he got blocked hahahaha. Lil Girl got the ball back too!
2. Lil Girl blocks Lester on a fastbreak lay-up in game 5. That was a block waiting to happen - I hung in the air wayyyyyy too long. The crowd freakin loved it, you bastards! =(
1. Please go to the photos section and check out the picture of Delonte + Luis's sister! Highlight OF THE YEAR!
Stars
3. Joe - had zero points but was a big part of why I got 58 points. I swear when Joe's on my team, I'm always on fire, and there's no explanation for it.
2. Justin - stupid Arms
1. Luis - stupid Monkey

OMG... That Kobe pic was HILARIOUS!!!!!
Luis, Delonte's likes to get pretty close with your sis!
Welcome back Joe!
Congrats Lester for the 58 point outburst! Trivia fans, Luis assisted on Lester's 50th point and Lester scored it on Victor with a fade away on the right baseline.
If Rob plays at CCWB again, I'm gonna nickname him Simon. It just makes things easier.
Hopefully, I'll be good to go in 3 weeks time. The bad wrist has made my game go from bad to worse.
Posted by Admin Lex | Jul 15, 2009 03:25 AM |
The Kobe pic is nasty! He even tagged me on Facebook! Ouch!
Luis actually has 3 sisters lol!
Joe Cool!
Whore, who assisted on the 58th point and who did I score on? I forgot lol!
Rob = Simon, for real lol!
Oh, and I thought you are skippin 3 weeks because of dates with sisters, now I know the truth hehehehe. Get well, man!
Posted by danielcslau | Jul 15, 2009 04:32 AM |
Lester, Justin assisted on your 58th point. It was an open three so technically, no one was guarding you... if you need a name, it'd be the guy who guarded you in the last game. Don't ask me how I remember. =p
Yo Vic, what about that time when you made the highlights because you stood at half court while on offense?
Posted by zedin | Jul 15, 2009 10:09 AM |
i actually assisted on the 48th pt and 58th pt. they were both offensive rebounds over brad richards. on the 58th pt i actually cleared out lester's defender by backing him down to the high post then dishing it back out to lester behind the arc. that was kinda cheap, sorry mike. just wanted keep lester's roll going.
congratz on the 58, les! What were you on last night? i always thought you shoot at a high %. but last night was just off the charts. although its hard to know your true %, cuz u don't shoot that much usually. maybe last night WAS your true % all along >=)
Posted by Admin Lex | Jul 15, 2009 10:54 AM |
Brad Richards!
Thanks Justin! I noticed that the entire team (except for me) was playing extremely tough D to try to get as many wins as possible. None of the opponents got any easy shots (except for the unstoppable ones of Edison and Rich from point-blank range, which you and I had to use flagrant foul to stop them, but of course we didn't). I missed 2 highlights where you THUMPED the ball into my gut for me to shoot lol, talk about spoon-feeding hahahaha. Just one of those nights, man. Don't think it'll ever happen again. By the way, check your Facebook lol.
Luis made some wack 3s too. I think he had a game with 2 or 3 STRAIGHT 3s. That was pretty insane.
I still don't understand why I'm always on fire when Joe's on my team. It's a fact. I have no explanation for it. Maybe watching him play cheap D gets my shot going, I don't know...
Oh yeah, Ray owes me dinner now, because I cracked 50. But his excuse is that he wasn't there. I think if Ray was there last night, I would've had 101 points at the rate I was going. Because RAY CAN'T STOP ME! =p
Posted by Admin Lex | Jul 22, 2009 09:11 AM |
I'm not a star because Ray refuses to treat me dinner for cracking 50. He is NOT a man of his words.
Me = Top Dawg? I don't know about that...

Welcome Aaron and Haslem's brother John to CCWB!
And welcome back Haslem!
Whore, sorry we didn't have enough time to squeeze in an extra game to decide who really got best record lol. But from the pattern and momentum, it would've been my team lol~ =p
All the wins from each team were from winning streaks: Thunder's team won games 1-3, Haslem's team won games 4-8 and Felix's team won games 9-13. Felix's team started the night 0-4 and Thunder's team ended the night 0-5. A very unusual night...

Random Stats
- Felix and Zechy both had only one 3, but both were game-winners!
Random Thoughts
- Felix had a total steal picking Alf with his last pick. No joke!
Highlights
8. Lester and Luis had 10 points each. Very over-Ray-ted.
7. Someone crossed out Richard's nickname "Rik 'The slick' Smits" on the stats sheet and replaced it with "Steve Kerr as requested." Isn't that Kwan's nickname?
6. Emerson steals the ball in game 6 from the defensive end, dribbles all the way to the opposing 3-point line, and then fires the ball backwards to Erick, who belongs on the other team. Erick then scored a lay-up on Luis. Assist!
5. The Alf + Haslem + Felix sandwich in game 7 when all 3 dove for a looseball. A disturbing sight...
4. Alf and Felix played hot potato at the top of the key after a check-ball and Felix nails a 3 for the game-winner for his team's first win. That's the changing point of the night.
3. Justin's clean monster block on Lil Girl's lay-up in game 7 and Richard point-blank jumper in game 11. Ray would've gone nuts over those 2, but Ray sells out too much - i.e. he only plays like once a month now, sigh...
2. Zechy breaking Luis's ankles in the last game (13) after he killed his dribble. Zechy swishes a 10-foot baseline J. Alf: "Write down in the highlights Luis's lips were bleeding afterwards!" lol
1. Down 12-10 in the last game, Zechy swiches an elbow 3 to win the game. It's important to note somebody from the opposing team was screaming out "No 3s!" Zechy ended up being wide open for that J, I don't know what happened there, but Felix and I will take it because we had no more legs and were dead tired. That shot made us tied for best record, awesome!
Stars
3. Alf and Zechy: not high at all on the scoresheet but did all the little things that got us the wins, especially on the defensive end
2. Felix: led team in scoring; had 2 of his team's 5 game-winners
1. Richard: played his heart out on both ends; 12 points short of 58 =p
Injuries
Jeff and Lester: shooting hand/fingers

you forgot to mention alf's brain fart in the last game where richard had open shots because alf forgot to check him! lol but alf made a lot of nice passes to me and i had a lot of fast break points. my legs are still burning man.
richard told me that his nickname in high school was steve kerr cause he jacked a lot of 3's so i changed it
Posted by zedin | Jul 22, 2009 02:48 PM |
alf was just having those lapses where he focuses more on trash talking than D. Luckily it didn't cost us at the end there. Felix should of known better who to use his first pick for. I couldn't do anything the first four games and i had a lot of turn overs that costed us. Good thing Lix was on and Zechy was clutch at the end there or else it could of been a bad night for us.

Alf is the new God. Sorry Felix.
By the way, the REAL highlight #1 right here:

If I was there, I would've been yelling cheap teams all night long!! Amare, god, Arms, THE Top Dawg, Chauncey Billups?!?!?!?!?
"Whore, sorry we didn't have enough time to squeeze in an extra game to decide who really got best record lol. But from the pattern and momentum, it would've been my team lol"
I'm sure you guys would've gotten the best record too... but it's not because of the pattern and momentum. It's because of the CHEAP TEAMS!

Shut up Gay Ray!
July 28
Mr and Mrs Stats Whore and their daughter dropped by for a bit because Felix needed to give Whore the stats to analyze. As you can see, Felix has posted up ALL the stats since the first day we started doing stats. In there, you'll see the point total of yourself for a specific night, your average per night, your total career points, your career high, and your average per night for a specific year. It is important to note that Top Dawg, the Best Ever Player at CC in Anders' opinion, averaged 32.1 points in 2007 and 13.0 in 2008. Top Dawg!
Please note that Felix had to convert our 2s-&-1s nights from before to our current 3s-&-2s format. That took a lot of work and we should all be appreciative of that. He has officially earned the nickname Stats Whore #2! =D
Late notification: Edison - he told me he's swamped at work at 6:57PM. I think if you're swamped, you would've known ahead of time, not 3 minutes prior to a commitment. One more and he'll be thrown to the wait list. Absolutely no mercy because it has happened too many times now. We have 20+ people on the wait list dying to play.

Highlights
14. Joe attempts his first shot in 3 nights of CCWB basketball in game 6. It was a 3, too!
13. Joe Special in the last game = game=winner!
12. Alf airballs an open reverse lay-up in game 6. Really? I missed that one! >.<
11. Erick posts up to nobody and turns around for a wide open 2 in game 7. I missed this too, must've been funny!
10. In the same game, Erick fakes left and goes right on Justin for a nice deuce.
9. Down 12-10 in game 5, Lester yells out "No 3s!" and let Mike hit a game-winning trifecta! Alf: "Why don't you put a hand up?" =p
8. Zechy loses the grip on a pass in game 3 and the ball skies and falls perfectly into Felix hands for a lay-ups. Zechy throws up both hands in the air as to signal "ASSIST"! lol!
7. Luis blocks Lil Girl's baseline J straight up in game 10. Can't call a pussy foul there lol~ =p
6. Zechy's sick alley-oop to Richard in game 6. White Chocolate with some hang time!
5. After blocking Alf's fastbreak lay-up in game 13, Ray says told Alf, "Got you little bitch!" =D
4. Victor finds Luis cutting at an angle towards the paint but fires a bad pass to him. Luis recovers by throwing the ball with both hands over his head and finds Erick, who was coming straight through the paint from the top of the 3-point line for a wide-open lay-up. Just how we drew it up! This wasn't written down, but I remembered! Happened in game 10 or 11 or 12.
3. Alf posts up against Ray Ray in game 7 and no-looks an over-the-head bank shot over Ray (ted). That was really sick.
2. Ray's put-back from sky high in game 12. Ray actually palmed the ball and hung in the air for a bit before coming back down to Earth.
1. Zechy pulls yet another Jordan on Ray and switches from right to left hand in mid-air to avoid Ray in game 10. Shades of 1991 in the Finals against the Lakers.
Please also check out the photos section! Some highlight-worthy stuff there! Delonte!
Stars
3. Richard: I had a lot of fun watching him fire shots that would make Alf say, "Oh Please!" lol!
2. Victor: Mr 90-or-10% was the leading scorer of the night and 10 3s!
1. Ray: Victor would've been #1 star if it wasn't for Sugar Ray. It has been a month since last time Ray balled and what a comeback it was! 22 points with 6 3s! Some massive rejections too! Mike (to Lester): "I don't want to guard Ray (because if they switch O and D, Ray will guard him). He blocks too much." lol!
Injuries
Lil Girl: Erick pulled a Joe Special (aka a Bruce Bowen signature move) by not letting Lil Girl land on the floor and Lil Girl rolled his ankle on Erick's foot. Bowen #2! =D

Highlights
3. Lester fakes a reverse lay-up in game 2, comes back to the strong side to avoid smacked in the face by Lil Girl. He hangs in the air and curls the ball off the backboard and in. Ownage! =D
2. Lil Girl dribbles the ball 10 times, and Steve tells Lil Girl to pass theball. Lil Girl says "WTF?" Because (as they claim) Steve never passes lol. That's cold!
1. Alf misses a 3-on-0 lay-up in game 10 while doing his signature Karl Malone hand-to-the-ear-let-me-hear-you-clap impersonation. Then he misses ANOTHER lay-up after grabbing his own miss. How can you sersiously miss on a 3-on-0 fastbreak with 2 cracks at it?! Must've been the Spirit of Ray that scared him...

Without Ray and Edison last night, it was my mistake not picking Richard. Bad GM-ing by moi... =(
Don't think that exchange happened face to face, or else a fight might've broken out lol!
That was soooooo funny! 3-on-0, man! How in the freakin world can that happen!
JACK CHAN for Prime Minister!

Highlight for me was Lester receiving a phantom text message from Whore saying that he couldn't make it to ball, causing Whore to be randomly placed into a team with 4 other jackers! Imagine, ALL the biggest jackers at CCWB playing together... if we brought back Top Dawg and Jayrome, that would've been the jacker team of the decade!!!

My cheap phone is constantly running out of room though, that's why I have to. But it's the weirdest thing. I know it wasn't Vince because he notified me on the website. It's just weird...
"What the hell? Nobody on my team is going to pass. We're all jackers!" I witnessed Lil Girl and Whore taking very little shots lol. All they did was set screens and PASS THE BALL lol! A rare sight! =p

Highlights
6. Justin scores the only basket for Lil Girl's team in game 2 as a sub. God, we couldn't score!
5. Lil Girl swishes a game-winning corner 3 for a dramatic 13-11 win for Whore's team as a sub to extend Whore's winning streak to 7 games. Thank god that was Whore's last win. It was an obvious cheap team that he had. The night was over even before it started. Would've been a perfect night if Richard didn't go down early and Jeff didn't go down later on. CHEAP TEAMS! Can't really blame Whore though, as he told me he got first pick with last choice. On a night like this, first pick is the way to go.
4. Lil Girl breaking his own ankles in game 10 or 11 or 12. Then trips and falls and injures himself. I didn't witness it though.
3. Rob breaking Christian's ankles in game 11, then flying in for a lay-up.
2. Erick's team got robbed in game 5 as Christian's game-winning 15-footer was called back. Alf: "Illegal pick!" Whore: "Alf, that's why I picked you (on my team)!" You guys are so cheap...

I thought the teams were pretty fair last night!
Lil Girl, Edison, Lester, Luis, Rob, Steven Jackson -- That's an all star team right there!
Our team had the best record last night because we had chemistry on D and moved the ball around well on O. It was fun playing on that team last night.
When Alf and I play on the same team, there is no need to argue over a call!! Sweet! Cheat our way to best record!
Hope Brad Richards, Lester, Lil G and Jeff get well soon
Posted by vince | Aug 19, 2009 09:09 AM |
woah, so many injuries, hope u guys get better soon. damn, richard with a 2-6mos injury is nuts man.
man, team 2 with mike, steve, lester putting in a total of 7 buckets or 14pts is painful. mike and lester are at least 15-20pt average players. but still, at the end 3-4 is not that bad and lester still managed 8pts despite the injuries.
but what's more confusing is team 3 with justin, christian, erick totally 65pts, but they were only 2-5. they lost 4 single basket games, that's rough. must've been totally frustrating.
Posted by Admin Lex | Aug 19, 2009 09:31 AM |
Vince is a freakin stats whore lol! The 4 single basket games were 1, 5, 7 and 11. Good analysis!
Mike needs to go inside more, I have never seen him do lay-ups! And this is coming from a guy who blows all his lay-ups lol! =p
Stephen Jackson... just an off night! He'll Iverson his way back next week (if someone bails, e.g. over-Ray-ted aka Greg Oyster-tag aka Big Country)

What a lie! If playing on my team gives you best record, how come I haven't had one since 5 weeks ago?
Alf and his "fair" calls... can play with 4 statues and get best record any day of the week.
By the way, I left my stats sheet at home, so please check them after dinner tonight lol~
In the mean time, go to the photos section and have a few laughs!
Posted by danielcslau | Aug 26, 2009 04:56 AM |
"5 weeks ago" THAT'S A LIE!! You had best record on July 28!! And you're purposely putting yourself on lesser teams lately (i.e. putting me, the deadweight, on your team) so that you could trick us into believing that you are not CHEAP TEAM Master.
JOE SPECIAL!! Where's the place that you and automatic ate at? Food looks yummy.
"sigh... no comment... i wish i wasnt such a burden for my team... we kept losing because of me" - what are you talking about man? you were killing us in the first few games
Posted by danielcslau | Aug 26, 2009 05:14 AM |
Moving picks are a thing of life at CCWB!! Just last night, I ran into three moving picks. No one calls it.
Justin would not have gotten to me even if Edison wasn't there.
If you want to call it by the book, I'm going to be calling a lot more fouls. I'm going to be calling all the carrying and traveling that goes on at the gym too. Maybe we should start shooting free throws too.
Posted by Admin Lex | Aug 26, 2009 05:29 AM |
Oh yeah, 4 weeks, not 5! Still, long enough! =(
I didn't put anybody on my team on purpose, we did it by positions lol, you were there! =D
You mean the ribs? That's a place called Memphis on West Broadway. You better bring 4 guys to finish that platter, freakin huge. We took half of it home lol.
Felix killed me a few times. Luckily one of his lay-ups was swatted away with some help D, forgot who it was on my team that blocked that shot. Was a nice play.
You guys can call interference on me for screaming all the time. =D
Posted by vince | Aug 26, 2009 05:45 AM |
hahah free throws, travelling and carrying...nice.
i think it's cuz edison ran into our player pretty hard taking them out of the play completely. also, i think people have been actively trying to cleanup their dirty picks nowadays too, so it is getting better. but i agree, maybe we should have shot for it for that call since u did hit the 3. if u missed it, that woulda been different.
statues? ants? alf, justin, zechy and em = cheap teams! but then again it was pretty even teams yesterday and records were pretty much identical.
Posted by Alf | Aug 26, 2009 05:56 AM |
Please dan.
You're the ONLY one who always tries to overturn fouls.
and when that doesn't work you try to make us shoot for it.
You can call whatever you what next week.
What I won't be doing is bitching about it for the next few days.
Justin was tripped up getting to you.
He calls a foul.
I don't get what there is argue about.
We settle this issue a long time ago.
Respect the call.
Posted by Admin Lix | Aug 26, 2009 06:29 AM |
yo vince, sorry about that moving pick last nite... i was trying to roll and ran the same direction you were heading... you could have called it but you were being nice.
as for the foul call.. its a tough issue.. i prolly would have given justin the benefit of the doubt because he isnt someone that calls pussy fouls. however, i also know that whore's track record has been pretty decent the past year and he did stop calling a lot of things that would normally be called in a real game situation. i just wish we leave the bickering on the court and let it be afterwards but i know our competitive juices wont let us.

Highlights
5. Ivan had 4 field goals in 2 games for a total of 9 points (for the night). After his second FG, Emerson says, "Who is this guy?" We kept on saying this each time Ivan touched the ball.
4. Ivan, though shorter and smaller than Cornell, blocks his turn-around baseline 10-footer in game 9. That drew some OOOs and AWWWs from the crowd.
3. Rob thinks he has a wide open lefty lay-up in game 1 until Zechy greets him at his point of release. Rob never knew what hit him.
2. On a clear breakaway (forgot which game), Zechy heard the footsteps of Luis trailing behind and does a pump-fake being going up for a lay-up. Luis climbed on top of Zechy and almost snapped his spine in half in the process. Luis showing us his mad hops. Thankfully Z was okay.
1. The play (and block) of the night came from Christian. As Alf blew past his check (either Aaron or Edison) and went up for a 4-foot shot, Christian comes out of nowhere and blocks Alf's shot straight up. Christian then goes the other way with the ball and off a series of mishandles, nails a J. This sequence proved to be crucial as Christian's team won by a point, but because of the lost in the last game, couldn't secure best record. Ray, you missed that nice block. It looked like Christian was climbing a ladder on that one.

Man... no recognition from Lester for all those nice passes...
In the last game alone I had
- the game winning backward skyhook..
- Nice inside pass to justin right undernear the hoop.
- Fake shot and pass inside for Zechy's wide open put back.
- Nice outlet to Zechy (Just past outta reach for Rob) for the wide open lay up.
That's 8 of 13 points I had a part in... but no recognition from Lester.
Clutch performance in the game for best record...
if that's the only game I played all night I should still get first star just for that...
Posted by Admin Lex | Aug 27, 2009 03:22 AM |
Alf, notice all your highlights you mentioned that I was on the court playing. The only one I REMEMBERED is #1, which out-shines all the ones you posted. Oh ya, you ARE in #1 aren't you? Forgot to mention if you're on a CHEAP TEAM, it's so freakin easy to make nice dimes. Outlet passes? Do you know who leads this category in direct field goals that comes from outlet passes? Think about it...
Sorry Lix, you didn't put enough description on the one you wrote down (for yourself). It was just like "Lix block on somebody (Cornell?)"... just not descriptive enough, my bad.
Whore, your plays and Luis's have become such a commonplace I'd be writing the same thing every week if I gotta put you guys down. You guys should be banned for being so clutch.
Cheap teams.

CHEAP TEAMS!
haha u guys are hilarious. i agree with lex. justin hit 9 2s and 5..count'em 5 3s and he didn't get a mention...it's cuz we expect that from him, just like u guys :)
lex had a huge 3 over someone too, but he didn't post that of himself either, so it's fair haha
WHO IS THIS GUY?
Posted by Admin Lex | Aug 27, 2009 05:24 AM |
Of course it's funny! Alf and Lix are whiners BY NATURE! They have me as an admin to balance things out.
Justin's a 50-20-20 guy every night. God bless those long arms and mad hops lol.
Haha, that 3 over Mike was pretty sweet. Just ran up court and jacked it up. Felt like Ray Allen for a second there. Nothin but net too! Even Emerson's girlfriend let me know about it! But I told her it wasn't enough, my team only had 7 points total in that game.
"WHO IS THIS GUY?" is the best thing to say since "CHEAP TEAMS" and "JACK CHAN!" lol!
Posted by danielcslau | Sep 02, 2009 02:36 AM |
Even though our team got the worst record last night, we played incredibly. We were 1 basket away from getting the best record on a night where Lester decided to stack himself with 3 first round picks in Will, Justin and Luis!
Christian was a scoring machine and Eric was a rebounding machine.
Welcome back Calvin!
Posted by Admin Lex | Sep 02, 2009 03:22 AM |
Darn it... left the stats at home, check after dinner, guys! Sorry!
Of course it was incredible. You guys started 3-1 and we started 1-3.
Stacked (I mean CHEAP) team happened on August 18, NOT last night. Your teammate Erick thought the teams were pretty even. If there was a stacked team, it was yours! And you know it!
Haha, The Machine. Ray? lol
Ray is still aiming to play once a month it seems. Jeez...
Calvin! Luis's block on him was SICK! Get it out of here! The Monkey > The Train!
Posted by danielcslau | Sep 02, 2009 03:57 AM |
It's indisputable that anytime Will plays, he'd be drafted 1st overall. It's also indisputable that anytime Will and Brad Richards doesn't play, Justin is picked 1st overall. It's also, also indisputable that anytime Will, Richard and Justin doesn't play that Luis is picked 1st overall.
You can try to convince yourself otherwise all you want.
Posted by Alf | Sep 02, 2009 09:12 AM |
I got to agree with Dan on this one.
You're such a stacker. I can't believe you didn't get best record with Luis, Will and Justin.
In Fact, I don't think I've ever seen Will not on your team.
I bet if we go back and look at the old teams, He's on your team 80% of the time.
Stop trying to justify your stacking, you know you do it, just admit it.
Posted by Admin Lex | Sep 02, 2009 09:25 AM |
If that is such the case, why did you ever say something along the lines of: "Oh, Lester, are you whining AGAIN? I will switch teams with you! Do you want to switch teams?"
I find that very contradicting.
How many times has Will balled in the last 3 months? And someone whines to me Calvin's rusty? I didn't ball for a week, I guess I'm rusty too.
Funny too how you guys list HALF MY FREAKIN TEAM. There was an incident very recently that someone told me he had a very VERY stacked team, EXCEPT for that ONE player, who totally messed them up. And he's not even a bad player; just a jacker.
Besides, the only reason the records were 6-5, 5-5, 5-6 was because the teams were even. I also over-heard you laughing the loudest when I tip-blocked Whore after a semi-blow-by on his defender. I know the WHOLE BENCH was mocking me, but I don't care too much about it (because it's a natural reaction for me to scream/yell when I block, I can't help it). Matter of fact, it might've saved the game. Honest to God I would've traded teams with Whore straight up. I don't think there's one weak sauce on his team (although he thinks otherwise). Christian and his bro are sick. They were both there since 6:35PM, so I know how good his bro is (yes, it's my first time seeing him as well). And as I mentioned above, my team was down at least 7-2 in the last game then had a comeback win for best record. Could've easily gotten worst record.
Starting next week, you guys can make the teams. Just let me know if I'm playin or not. If I am, I'll just get my butt onto the court, and tell my mates to raise their hands.
And I wonder how long it'll take for game # 1 to get under way. Whatever.
Posted by zedin | Sep 02, 2009 10:26 AM |
this is not the first time this has come up. We need to give lester a break for taking the initiative in saving us time in making the teams. The teams for this week were definitely not stacked by any stretch. Just look at the records. When trying to rate a team you have to look at the team as a whole not just one or two players. On paper, i woulda said Calvin had the strongest team just because he was the only big guy for the night and his team was balanced from top to bottom. You cannot say the same about our team.
So Lester, i think it's ok for you to continue to make a rough draft of the teams(if u still feel like it)and let us make adjustments after. And if no one has any strong objections at the beginning just keep those teams. If anything, this week should be evidence that shows this method is working and we should continue with this method until there's evidence towards this method being imbalanced.
Posted by Admin Lex | Sep 02, 2009 10:32 AM |
"On paper, i woulda said Calvin had the strongest team." Damn straight. And guess who were guarding The Train? It was yours truly, and Justin when I had to sub out.
Or first 5 second 5, odd/even numbers. Don't think there will be any cheap teams next week though. I think most of the regulars will be playing the coming Tuesday, unlike last night.
Posted by vince | Sep 02, 2009 01:06 PM |
wow, so much drama! u need more sucky players to show up to balance things out...so i'll make sure i come out next week! :D
there are no stats to look at yet at the time of writing and i don't know the teams, but just looking at the records for the night, i agree that i couldn't have been that bad of a night. i'm sure it was hard fought though that's for sure with so many good players on the floor.
i agree with justin, i think if there are any big complaints about teams, the trade should be done quick and before the games start by one rep/captain. and what's done is done. making teams generally works out ok, it was the first 5, 2nd 5 and last 5 that didn't work very well and resulted in a team always ending the night with 1-6 or 2-6 type records that really sucked.
i also agree that on any ordinary night luis, justin and will are first rounders, but it sounds like yesterday most players were either 1st or 2nd rounders.

Random Stats
- Anthony's team outscored its opponents 26-4 in the first 2 games; 3-1 to start the night.
- Christian had 23 points in the first 6 games he played. Was on pace for 60 points.
Random Thoughts
- No matter how we do the teams, one team will be the 'favorite' for that night. I GUESS I'm on THAT team in some people's eyes for ONCE in 5 WEEKS. Big deal eh? How many best records have you guys had in that stretch? How many lop-sided records were there?
Highlights
5 . Lil Girl in game 11, 2 minutes for diving (yellow card) - "Somebody should tell him to stop (doing that)."
4 . Alf: "Lester missing back to back lay-ups. Alf man-handling Lester in the paint (in game 10)."
3 . Bonamy's clutch turnover led to Lil Girl's game 10 game-winner. Who the heck wrote this down? "Clutch turnover"? That's a new term! The best one since "Who is this guy!"
1 & 2. You guys decide which one is #1: A) Christian's massive block on Alf's potential game-winning lay-up at 11-12 in game 7. The difference between this one and last week's is that last week was help D, this one was straight up. But Alf did get the last laugh as Ken did a dream shake for game-winner. B) Luis's gigantic stuff on Calvin in the best record-deciding game. Calvin's team did get the ball back however, but I can't remember if they scored. I'm sure Luis has been reading his plays the whole night as he never when left once.

Where in the world were you guys? Quit bailing!
Injuries
Lester: a bullet pass that was tipped by Alf went straight to my right eyeball. It freaked Whore out a little bit after seeing it being puffy and red. I thought at the time I should have it checked out, but it seemed fine when we were leaving. Should I have it checked out?!

Wow... sounds like a lot of discussion since I was gone. Time for me to take the AM shift.
"How many times has Will balled in the last 3 months? And someone whines to me Calvin's rusty? I didn't ball for a week, I guess I'm rusty too."
Will hasn't balled much lately but when he's balled, he's on your team (which no one complained much about before cuz it wasn't major stackage before). Calvin hasn't balled in 1 year! If it was the old Calvin, he wouldn't have shot 5 airballs; if it was the old Calvin, our whole team could've chilled on offense and defense, and we would still have a chance of beating you guys.
So don't give me that, "On paper, i woulda said Calvin had the strongest team just because he was the only big guy for the night and his team was balanced from top to bottom." His team was not balanced from top to bottom... yes Christian, Anthony and Erick are good players, but Calvin, Mike and Daniel are super rusty, passive and over-the-hill, respectively (wakeup everyone... i haven't been a good player in 3 years!).
"I don't think there's one weak sauce on his (whore's) team". Not having one weak sauce on a team is different from having a really strong team.
"Starting next week, you guys can make the teams." Why not do teams by committee... you could be part of the committee and no one complains. The fairness of the teams is questioned when it's a committee of one.
Posted by Admin Lex | Sep 03, 2009 03:38 AM |
Even if Will's on my team, my purpose it to make the teams fair, just like how I would put Jeff together with you. Honest to God, do you think the teams are more fair this past Tuesday? Or the night Brad Richards went down? Even without looking at the records, look at it on paper! And if you wanna scratch that night, fine! Check out the past 5 weeks, and remember the missing stats from August 11 (we won't get them back by the way)? Another losing record for moi. Is this even a discussion? Maybe it is!
"wakeup everyone... i haven't been a good player in 3 years!" Damn, I think I'm below average since birth then lol. Oh ya, and I had what... 4 airballs?
I don't want to be part of the committee. From now on, I'll leave the the board by the window at center court, and you guys can play with it, I want no part of it. And just to be "fair", do NOT put Will on my team at least until a year from now, I'M DEAD SERIOUS. And like I said, holla at me when the teams are finalized and I'll be ready to play. I'll be hungry and try to stop screaming too.
Posted by Admin Lex | Sep 03, 2009 04:02 AM |
It's all good. The only thing I will do is make a few more printouts and do the first 5, second 5, etc. thingy in case there's a huge stall when making the teams. So if that fails, we have something to fall back on, and we can't accuse anybody of making the teams. And Will or myself will be moved to another team if we end up on the same team under this method.
Posted by Alf | Sep 03, 2009 10:07 PM |
Wow this is really getting some huge replies...
Here my replies
Ok... first off to Lester...
1) Your BIG block on Dan.
I think there is some misunderstanding here. As we all know a lot of people make noise after they do something poster like. So we’re not laughing at that. WE'RE LAUGHING AT THE VARIATION IN YOUR INTENSITY. Sometimes you won’t even get a hand up on a game winning shot. (EX: You weren’t even trying in game 10 when I scored 8 on you, there’s no boxing out, no hand up, nothing). However once in a while, you’ll get super intense on D and come flying over from across the court to swat a shot or grab a rebound and do a Garnett scream after. That shit is as intense as it gets. It’s like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with your D. We laugh because it’s so UNEXPECTED AND OUT OF THE BLUE. Don’t stop the intensity or the screaming... Those are awesome (Seriously)... Just keep that intensity up more often and I promise you no one will laugh, ever.
2) When you quote me saying "Oh, Lester, are you whining AGAIN? I will switch teams with you! Do you want to switch teams?"
I'm tired of the Whining over and over again. It’s like saying "Are we there yet?" for a road trip. You would say it all night long, after EVER game. If it’ll make you stop repeating that line, I’ll switch teams with you. You notice how in that quote, I don’t deny that the team were uneven? Because it’s true, THEY ARE UNEVEN. Notice what I and pretty much everyone else do when that happens? Suck it up and play through it. The only reason I bought it up is because you're DENYING they were uneven.
3) Your Eye
If your vision doesn’t change and there’s no major pain it’s fine. It’s just like a black eye, but not as hard a hit.
To Zechy
1) I love how you said
“The teams for this week were definitely not stacked by any stretch.... (Calvin’s) team was balanced from top to bottom. You cannot say the same about our team.” I think the word you're looking for is that the teams were unbalanced... AKA stacked
To Felix
1) Stop putting yourself down all the time. HONESTLY, you are always a valuable member of the team because of your great defence (You’re a guarantee 3 steals a night), Good rebounding, 3 point shooting (You act like it never goes in, but you know you’re good for at least 1 a night), and good team play. So STOP THE SELF-DEPRECATING COMMENTS.
On Team picking...
Captains -- Works great because you got 3 guys deciding in a fair, even, and transparent way on how to split the players up. But it only works if guys want to be captain.
Commitee -- works ok because you got a few guys deciding how to split players up.
There’s also another method I seen before - Have similar guys match up (in 3s) and randomly assign one to each team. The big benefit of this is there's never a huge mismatch since there's always a good check for you on the other team. The big disadvantage is mismatches are fun sometimes.
I'm OK with any of the method as long as there's MULTIPLE people contributing to the team division.
Posted by Admin Lex | Sep 04, 2009 04:10 AM |
"Sometimes you won’t even get a hand up on a game winning shot." I'm like you, it depends on who it is. E.g. you get burn when Richard takes a long 2, a shot you think he can't make. You'd say, "Oh please!" lol. And I get burned by a few people who I THINK cannot make that shot (mind you, I know Richard get hit it, so I WOULD put a hand up). Like Ray, I'd let him take it. =D
I DID try guarding you. And out of those 4 buckets you made, I fouled you on 2 or 3 of them, but you never called a foul (because there's no need, since they went in). You'd only call them if you missed and then you or your own teammate got the rebound. Signature move. =D
Sorry Z, I'll tell the committee to put us on the same team next week. I'll make sure I'll be providing the same variation of intensity the whole night! =D
"Have similar guys match up (in 3s) and randomly assign one to each team." This is what I do. Every now and then somebody would say, "Don't do it, it takes too long."
Felix is a self-proclaimed God, "depending on where [he is] playing." We all know he's kidding with the self-deprecating comments. =p

What's Alf and Lester smoking? Must be the cheap fouls clouding your minds...I haven't posted anything in ages...not sure who ur referring to...haha...anyways, i think we should all just quit the whining about the cheap teams...for hte most part, they are pretty even...in fact, it's actually more interesting when they weren't always even given with the captain system...sometimes you have a great team, sometimes you don't. Deal with it. However, I do wish to be the anti-Lester and put my name down as always being on Will's team if nobody minds. I'm tired (literally) of checking him...Christian is fast and can run by you, but Will makes you look like an idiot.
Lester, ignore Alf's stupid taunts...he's just jealous of all the non-natives...i vote you CCWB Executive of the Year. Just work on your layups before game time...

Sorry Z, I missed a million lay-ups again last night. Argh! >.<

2. Mike's coast to coast drive, and over Luis in game 10.
1. In the same game, Erick does 3 behind-the-back dribbles and schools the opposing team, but blew the lay-up. It was very nice though!

3. Lil Girl: I know he was leading scorer, but he played outstanding D last night. Being on a cheap team might've gave him extra motivation.

"And a friendly reminder to all of you going to the Blazers/Suns game, PLEASE PAY VINCE NEXT WEEK!" We need this for all the Tsers in this world. Just kidding hahahaha! =p
"Felix" and "cheap" are always in the same sentence.
All that was needed for best record last night was first overall pick lol. It's like the Lebron draft almost. I like when they got the 1st pick that year, the GM jokingly said, "We don't know who we are going to pick yet." Hahahaha, that was so funny.
Posted by Arms | Sep 09, 2009 11:17 AM |
My pics weren't that cheap, except Yoga. if you get 1st overall, you HAVE to make the first pic cheap as possible because your next pic is sixth and seventh. Did i get 2nd star for the cheap pic. cuz other than the cheap pic, all i remember was putting up bricks last night (and one of them happened to bank in). Good thing Vince, Lester, Lix were there for the boards or else it would of cost us. And yes, Lil G did look like he was putting extra effort on both ends last night.
Posted by Admin Lex | Sep 09, 2009 03:01 PM |
Good point by Justin, which is also why Alf demanded to have 3rd pick - that way, he can have Luis AND gets his moneys worth... because there's no point getting Luis with 1st overall with Yoga Ball playin.
Ray, aka BC, why bother being a regular anymore? You should just give the spot away!
That's a nice dunk. But nothing beats James White, and I mean nothing:

Our beloved over-Ray-ted lookin to make a comeback:
"Greg Ostertag is looking to make a return to the NBA.
The former Jazz center, who retired from the game three years ago, was invited to work out for the Trail Blazers last week.
"I just miss it," Ostertag told the Journal-World.
"Watching the playoffs last year got me excited. My wife said, 'Why not go try it again?' One day I said, 'What the heck. I'll get in shape and get back on the court and give it a try.'
"I've got nothing to lose."
Portland is the only team that has entertained the idea of giving Ostertag a shot.
"I did all right. I'm rusty. I'd not picked up a ball seriously in three years," added Ostertag. "I have some cobwebs. The more I play, the quicker I'll get it back. Now I'm trying to get in good shape and get stronger. The basketball will come.""

Once called the worst starting SG in the NBA

The Spurs have signed veteran guard Keith Bogans to a one-year, $1.03 million deal.
San Antonio is hoping that Bogans will be able to fill the void left behind by Bruce Brown, who they traded to the Bucks and then retired earlier this summer.
Like Bowen, Bogans has a reputation for being a strong defender.

Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin says the team feels as though they are better than the defending-champion Lakers.
Martin was asked by 104.3 The Fan in Denver what the team learned from their deep playoff run this past season.
"That you have to play on a consistent basis throughout the regular season and just better your position. Just learn from the things we did right last year and learn from things we did wrong, but we had a great run," Martin said on the radio.
"I think guys know that we were right there and everybody in that locker room and in the organization feels we were a better team than the Lakers. Everybody feels we were a better team than the Lakers and no one can tell me anything different. No one."

Highlights
12. Calvin's team was 9-1 before losing their last 3 games. Cheap teams.
11. Yoga Ball didn't get his first bucket until game 12. WTF.
10. Players beware Lil Girl added the Shareef Abdul-Rahim spin-move to this repertoire. Did it twice on Lester and was money. He is calling this move the "Black Tornado" lol.
9. Felix in game 10: "Nice shot, (Big) Baby!" On the next play, "Oh, Baby!"
8. Watchin Calvin, Lil Girl and Will constantly get hammered throughout the night as they drove in the paint.
7. Felix's Dr J reverse in game 6. Also a game where he scored 9 of his team's 13 points.
6. Victor's awesome block on Rob's baseline J in game 12.
5. Jeff was cherry-pickin in game 14 and thought he had a wide-open lay-up until Erick ran full-court in 0.001 seconds to block him and maintain possession. That was awesome!
4. Yoga's block on Rob in game 2. He didn't try to spike it; he tried to palm it from his shot. Sick stuff that made the crowd go nuts!
3 Yoga's second block on Rob in game 5, this time off a shake-and-bake crossover, but all ball again. Yoga eventually got 2 more big blocks on Rob.
2 Down 9-2 in game 9, Calvin's team scored 11 unanswered points to win the game.
1. Lil Girl and Rob combined for 88 points. Rob told me if would've been 100 if somebody didn't missed his 2 in either game 2 or 3. I told him if we counted his 2, we gotta take out Lil Girl's game-winner in either game 2 or his own 3-point game-winner in game 3 to make the math right. Either way, would not have been 100 even if we didn't count Yoga's four big blocks on him and the one by Victor lol.

yeah, i know which play yoga as talking about, at first i thought it was a foul cuz i heard a loud smack, the yoga told me it's cuz rob kicked him. i was shocked that we got possession after that trip too since it wasn't technically a foul since rob kicked into yoga.
also yoga was hammered everytime he drove in the first 11 games, that's y it took so long to score haha but our team was CHEAP.
we had huge offense from the top 4 and jeff was playing a solid D game checking erick and lix for most of the night. i just hung out, it was awesome haha CHEAP TEAMS!

Thanks Justin. But my return date is TBD. And even though last time I picked the teams with records of 6-5, 5-5, 5-6, I got bitched at hahahaha... =p
Just a reminder that whether or not I'm playin, I'm still the person you guys notify if you need to bail. Do NOT bother God (aka Felix).
And I heard the reason for the cheap team last night was because Luis requested a trade that was authorized by nobody, but somehow the trade went through. And thus, he can no longer be part of the committee. That's pretty funny lol. And Luis, why are you so cheap? Sigh...

Highlights
5. Luis banned from committee! Hey, I didn't write this... this was on the stats sheet lol~
4. In game 3, Brad Miller's team go on a 10-0 run, then Calvin's team go on a 9-0 run, then Brad's team close the game with a 4-0 run. That's pretty cheap, such a tease.
3. Vince nailed 3 shots in a row in game 10, finished with 10 points and game-winner. Vince = the new Jacker!
2. Kevin blocks Aaron's second pump-fake in game 2, then on the next possession, Kevin jumps over his own teammate Luis for another block (on who?) and saves the ball from going out of bounds.
1. Ray COULD'VE made it tonight (he confirmed with me in the afternoon), but then he had to go to his boss's place to take care of some business (was past 6PM when he found out). I hope it's not what I think, if you know what I mean...

haha taking care of business with the boss late at nite...then comes the promotion. hope your boss is female Ray!
i think teams turned out ok, and they weren't really that cheap, it's just that everything was dropping for us yesterday.
our top scorers scored 35pts and our point average was 24.8pts per player, everyone was hitting. our team shooting percentage was about 65% (i don't have stats to back that up, but i'm the temporary stats whore while he's away crunching numbers in the stock market).
team 3 had a bad day. justin and calvin usually avg 20-30pts, but struggled at 13 and 14, which is quite rare.
not so CHEAP TEAMS!

clarification? I received money from Dan, Vic and Zechy so far. I might misunderstood, did someone give up their spot to Zechy, sorry I forgot who did. Also, Lix, can you confirm that Joe and Gary are still in for that day?
Seat location: section 103, row 25, seats 101-108
Total Charge: CA $444.25 / 8 so about $55 a person

zechy took lester's spot. I have also sent a reminder to gary and joe.
as for the teams... i think it was unfair for arm's team because they did lost you man! and dont forget that every play had to go thru yoga who blocked a lot of shots and made a lot of def. rebs as well.
i have no excuse for my team because we had fun and it was close for us. but i think arms really had it tough.
and the reason why your team was making all the shots was because we were triple teaming yoga so someone's always open for a nice shot!!! no kidding! and even then yoga was top dawg in scoring!

Vince, I mean Jacker, Ray's boss is a male, no joke! You know, old Asian male? Hmm...
You guys are being unfair to Arms now that I'm not runnin the show? Ouch, guys. I want Arms on my team when I make my Jordan comeback!
"always open for a nice shot" - Man, give me open looks and I'll drop 100 points Chamberlain style! Actually make that 101, just to beat his record.
Haha, "top dawg"... why you gotta throw that in there? I'm laughin so hard right now my stomach hurts! That also reminds me of Anders and Luke Walton!
Indeed, BAILer. I'll pass it on to Lix on Tuesday because I'm gonna see him before you guys ball.
Ray should pay the extra $4.25 for bailin all the time. Thoughts, gentlemen?
And I have a feelin he's gonna bail for the NBA game (somethin last minute is sure gonna come up... e.g. "helpin out" boss, gf, eat his donuts, work on his "nice shot that never goes in," etc). In that case, give me a call! I'm in lol! No more ball = no practice on Thursdays (yes Victor and Zechy, I'm talkin about practice!), so I can watch it! Stupid drivers, hopefully my career ain't over...

Ok, Gary is not going anymore right Lix? so I'll give the spot to EMERSON...told you Em, I knew there would at least be one person bailing. $55 for the ticket man. Yeah, lix, let me know if Joe is still in, if not I need to find someone else or I'll be short $55 for his ticket.

I'd be in Arms' team any day! But I guess there just wasn't any chemistry with their team though either.

wow, sounds like I've been missing out on a lot of fun.
33 points for vince? such a jacker!
oh, and did I say, "CHEAP TEAMS"?!?!?
What happened Lester? You got injured on the road? Damn... get well soon.
Lix, I can't believe you let a trade happen without your authorization. What's the admin powers for?!?!
