3s
1 Alf, Zechy
3 Erick
4 Oliver, Ray, Thunder, Victor
5 Emerson, Justin, Mark

Points
1 Vince (first game was game 8) I swear you got more than one point~
2 Gary
6 Brad Miller
7 Chris
8 Sam, Zechy
9 Alf
12 Erick, Justin, Lester, Thunder, Victor
13 Ray
14 Emerson, Luis (first game was game 7)
18 Mark
19 Oliver

Highlights
7. In the 4 games involved with scores of 7-6 for Lester's team, they won all of them with Alf scoring 3 of those game-winners. Alf = clutch
6. Out of the baskets in games 12 and 13 combined for Thunder's team, only one was not a trifecta. The game plan must've been "if it's not a 2, don't shoot it!"
5. Victor's lefty flick from his waist over the out-stretched arms of Mark. Victor was so surprised it went in he said, "woohoo!"
4. Alf daring Ray to score in double-figures as over-Ray-ted had zero points last week. As it turns out, Ray got 13 and Alf got 9. Ha!
3. Someone's outlet pass hit the edge of the stage then went right into Zechy's face. Even with Z's quick reflexes, he couldn't dodge that bullet. Don't think I've ever seen that at CCWB~
2. Alf poppin a trifecta to win game 11 7-6. He had to hurry the shot instead of taking his usual 20 seconds to set-up for it as a defender was flying at him, I don't know how that got in, but I guess it doesn't matter... cuz we won!
1. Luis shooting the lights out coming in half way through the night with no warm-ups at all. Too bad you didn't shoot like that in the 3-on-3, or else I would've benched you instead of myself in game 2 of our quarter-finals. I still get nightmares from that day, and I do remember it like yesterday. You still stink~

10 Oliver, Victor
12 Alf
13 Jason
15 Emerson
18 Justin
24 Luis

Highlights
7. Ray's 0 points and a nice airball trifecta that wasn't even close. What the heck?!
6. Brad Miller dribbles from the 3-point elbow on Alf, who was totally ready for what he was going to do, and makes the lay-up with no bank. Oh, Alf~
5. Stats Whore's behind-the-back pass to Brad Miller after driving to the lane and drawing Brad Miller's defender towards him.
4. Luis making shot after shot with defensive specialist Sam guarding him. In game 10 he had 6 points, including the game-winner.
3. There was this play where Erick, Oliver and Victor were fighting for a loose ball and when Victor picked it up from the floor, everyone was clapping. I couldn't see what happened, someone fill me in~
2. Have 5 or 6 points and need one more basket to win the game? Just pass it to whoever Lester's guarding because that person's gonna knock it down in Lester's face. How many times did that happen?! Too many!
1. Tied 6-6 in game 11, Lester out-hustled 2 guys for a defensive board... only to throw a lazy behind-the-head hook-pass that was stolen by Victor standing still with his hands up. I fouled you on your lay-up too.

Stars by Sam Toa
3. Emerson: Tough, hard-nosed player plays steady defense, and turns up the CLUTCH factor during the deciding moment of each game. 3 game-winners means I'm glad he was on my team. I think all of them were on me (Lester) lol~
2. Justin: Is his midrange turn-around jumper one of CCWB's signature moves? Never slows down, pesky defender and a great addition to any team. With 2 of the top 3 stars on our team, it's no wonder we got best record! Cheap!
1. Luis: Although he stinks, he can score with the best of CCWB. He torched me with a 6-point game, and when I tried HARD to shut him down the next game I played against him, he sank an extrememly demoralizing and difficult 2-pointer in my face. Cheater!

Injuries
Mark's sack. Hope they didn't turn blue/purple!

Welcome Zechy's friend Tom Minnes to CCWB!

Teams were picked by Amanda, Gen and Shima. So as you can imagine, Stats Whore, Emerson and Felix were not on the same team. Justin requested to have a trade so that he could pick up Andrew because they lacked a big man. You got best record. Cheap! I wanted Andrew too!

Highlights
5. Luis's huge block on Erick. But on the next possession after checking the ball, Luis fell asleep and Erick banked in a point-blank shot, what a waste. You stink Luis!
4. Stats Whore: "I'm such a jacker. Even I hate myself."
3. Stats Whore: "Hans, watch your hands!"
2. Erick going between his own legs a few times before going through Zechy's legs. He didn't score on that possession, but it was still fun to watch.
1. Vince's show-the-ball-and-underhand-scoop on a fastbreak. That got everyone's attention and got a lot of ooohs an aaahs~

I know I'm missing a lot more highlights, feel free to add some more!

Stars by Sam Toa
3. Stats Whore: All I remember was him scoring a bunch of points earlier, but slowed down a little at the end of the night.
2. Andrew Mok: Not a typical size centre , but that doesn't stop him from being a very effective and proficient big man. Solid!
1. Erick: Dangerous offensive threat all night with 3s, midrange jumpers, and hustle lay-ups. Rarely runs out of breath or energy.

Honourable mention: Vince

Injuries
Felix: rolled ankle by stepping on his teammate Lester's foot. Both were at the same spot at the same time trying to get a defensive rebound. Sorry Kaman~
Lester: sprained picky.

Stars by Sam Toa
3. Zechy: Smooth, quick, and crafty. After a long layoff due to vacation and injury, his legs are finally coming back and it has really shown in his game. Had a knack for fearlessly driving into the lane and scoring on short jumpers.
2. Calvin: Looking horrible in warmups was only a disguise to how he would play when the games actually counted. Fast, strong, and skilled player was able to shoot clutch 3s or drive into the heart of the defense for powerful layups whenever he wanted to. When he was scoring effectively, our team was winning by larger margins.
1. Oliver: Tremendously versatile and effective player. Did EVERYTHING to help his team win. His most memorable sequence of the night was when he stole the ball, dribbled downcourt, and without hesitation, nailed a 3 on the other end. When Alf arrived later that night to watch a few games, he asked more than once, "When did Oliver get so good?"

Oliver has always been good. He just doesn't play enough at Corpus to be noticed.

August 14

Brad Miller says there were about 11 players and scores were not kept~

August 7

Alf, Alan was so disappointed you weren't there. That means he couldn't school your ass. He'll play on Thursday as well, and is leaving Friday afternoon. It's a shorter stay than last year; he's only staying for 6 days this time around.

We did the 1-2-3 1-2-3 thing for the teams and after some trade discussions between Erick, Franco and myself, we ended up pickin pretty even teams, as indicated by the records below......

(5-4) Emerson, Gary, Kevin Wong (P-dub), Mark, Sam Lee, Stats Whore

Highlights
8. Alan: "Who is that guy?" Lester: "Zechy." Alan: "He's so fast!" Cheap~
7. Luis screaming after missing a trifecta in game 6. Someone says "I've never heard Luis scream / show emotion before." I'm sure Alf has...... all the time!!!
6. In game 9, Mark grabs an offensive, wonders if the play is still on or if a foul's been called. As soon as he found out the play's alive, he runs to the corner, turns and sticks his second trifecta of the game. Now that's cheap!
5. In the same game, Gary crosses Erick over. Who in the world crosses Matrix over? I forgot what happened after that though, but Whore and I were impressed.
4. Again in the same game, Erick coompletely undresses Mark with a crossover and a nifty finish. His teammate Alan was smiling and shaking his head after that one.
3. 'Fight' between Kevin and Kwan. Lolz~
2. Erick pulling a Sam Lee fading sideways from straight-away downtown and hittin it!
1. Game 13 was played knowing that everyone's record was 4-4. Colin's team was up 6-4. Whore set a pick on Lester and that left Mark open for a 2. In the end, Colin's team turned it over and it's off to the races between Sam Lee and Franco. Sam had a head-start, fakes out TT under the hoop and finished with an uncontested lay-up. Argh, that pick. But it was fun though. It's always good when the records are tight~

Stars by Sam Toa
3. Gary: each tuesday's night, you can expect Garmelo to play his role (D hard, grab a few boards, and hit his mid-range) consistently. Tonight was a pleasant surprise, in addition to doing all that, he hit a 3 or two, created and hit some crucial basket, got by his defender(s) to grab several key offensive rebounds, won some games on the way. Carmelo!!!
2. Lester: played the way we knew he could. His turnaround jumper was deadly and he was using it all night to the dismay of his opponents. Improved quickness, strength, and determination have catapulted this Kobe fanantic to becoming more like his b-ball idol. I'm surprised you picked me over Alan. He's the only true PG in CCWB come to think of it, and he anchored your team the whole night. He also shot a high percentage when he decided to shoot the pumpkin.
1. Stats-Whore: for someone playing injured, he was crafty enough to create his own shot and hit them. There was one game in which he single-handedly scored most, if not all the points, and won the game. Didn't stop there but continue throughout the night. His exceptional shooting touch was deadly accurate tonight.

This is where it gets interesting... how come Erick's team didn't play any of the next 2 games? Or did you subbed so many people that none of the players on his teams scored? I'm so lost. Records without the next 2 games would be (6-2) Erick, (3-5) Sam, (2-4) Kwan. Records with the next 2 games: (6-2) Erick, (4-4) Kwan, (3-7) Sam. Either way, Erick's team got best record. I told you it would be a cheap team!

1. Erick's hanging lefty lay-up in game 5. That was sick dude~

Stars by Sam
3. Mark - leading scorer (again) had two things going against him: total team wins and poor shooting percentage.
2. Andrew - newest player adapted well and quickly to playing at CCWB. Strong, quick and fundamental sound, he was a big presence for his team.
1. Justin and Erick: plays the same agressive style defensively and offensively. Equally adept at switching roles or carrying the team.

Honourable mention:
Stats Whore - how did he end up totaling 17 points (and the second leading scorer) when the night was done? That what I call a "silent assasin."

27 Mark damn, you ballhog!

Highlights
2. Erick hacking the crap out of Mark and pokes him in the eye by accident in game 3. Justin switches with Erick to guard Mark and says, "I foul him less."
1. In game 6, Felix trips himself. Damn it, too bad I wasn't there till game 9.

Stars by Sam!
3. Mark: First pick overall (by me) rarely disappoints. Of our six wins, four were game-winning 2s by Mark. Played well in the post, strong defensive rebounds and scored proficiently. What a waste of a first pick! And a ballhog at that! Just kidding!!!
2. Kevin: Confidence and aggression was at an all-time high, so were his points. Amazed more than a few people with his driving to the bucket and sharp-shooting.
1. Hans: Hitting enough shots (and 2s) to change the outcome of a game AND to make Jeff say, "when did Hans start hitting threes??!!" Hans hits everything from anywhere. Ask Thunder... I call him Mr 90%!

Honourable Mentions by Sam!
2. Alf: For his no-show. That way Justin's team was left without their first rounder (and best big man) and we were able to eek out the best record of the night.
1. Lester: anyone who arrives at 9 o'clock, plays three games the entire night, and still ties Justin in overall scoring deserves some credit. I wanna know how many shots Justin took though. Maybe he didn't shoot at all because he was disappointed that Alf wasn't gonna come as each game went by.

Injuries
Lester: sprained left ankle. Still hurts a little bit, out for Thursday.

Franco, Jason let me know he's not coming by sending me a message on Facebook. Obviously I didn't get that until I got home. I told him to text my cell instead next time. You can kick his ass next time you see him.

Highlights
10. Someone did a hardcore over-the-back foul on Gary on his defensive rebound attempt in game 11 tied 6-6. Gary said it was a foul after the game, but didn't call it because he's melo. Lucky you guys won... because I sat out! I'm the weak link. I sat out 2 of our 3 wins. I should sit the whole night next time, then we'd get best record!
9. Lester calls a pussy foul on Stats Whore, and Whore laughs it off. As Alf would say, "you tocuhed my hair (at my back)". Sorry Whore. But hey, let's continue our cheapness on the MJ table, where it matters most! FELIXXX...... hahahahahahahaha......
8. Victor's no-call in game 13 down 5-6 when Anders pushed him out of bounds. It was unintentional but was none-the-less a foul. Lester looks at Alf and Alf says "don't look at me, I didn't see it." I was so mad, but nothin personal Anders, lol.
7. Erick steals the ball and has Lester to beat in transition. Lester pulls Erick's sleeve at half-court and Erick says "What the fuck is that?" The play continues with Erick not calling a foul, and Lester tip-blocks his lay-up, Felix says "nice play," but don't know if he saw the foul lol. Sorry Matrix.

Those 4 plays summed up the night. You could've called foul on every play, with or without the ball. Each point was hard to get, you had to earn it in most cases, unless your name is Luis. I went through about 8 t-shirts. They were all so very wet.

6. In game 2, Luis splits the D down Broadway and lays it in. Beautiful~
5. A deflected pass that somehow gets to Gary in the post and he banks it high off the glass and in. That shot was so sweet!
4. Erick calls a bank in game 5 and hits the bottom of the left backboard. How did that happen?!
3. Mark's game-winning half-court shot in game 9.
2. After setting up the chairs and tables, Jason and Lester were washing their hands. Alf comes into the washroom and says to Lester, "Jason looks like Sam doesn't he?" Lester's gives him this confused look and says, "hell no." Jason's response to Alf: "What are you on?!"
1. Alf runs into the wall with the ball in his face. Don't know which game, and don't know what you were thinkin. Alf: "I was thinking I might be fast enough to get it before it goes out. I was wrong. Stupid moving wall."

Stars
3. Luis: Ballhog!
2. Sam: In double figures! He could scored 30 if he really wanted to, and why don't you shoot more 3s? You know you can't miss~
1. Justin: Stupid arms~

Injuries
Alf: black eye Alf: "Justin elbowed me, I don't think he knew it tho. Stupid arms."
Lester: left calf is okay now after slightly sprainig it, but the sprained left thumb still hurts.
Mark: knee

Highlights
6. Alf: "That steal for the game point in the second last game was money... I stole it from justin and went in for the layup... *drool*"
5. Alf: "That one where Sam did that ugly-ass outlet pass. Even after I told him NO multiple times. I bet he did it just to see Jason sit on my face. Stupid Sam. Next time I see sam on a fast break with franco and Kelvin behind him. I'm gonna lob one right on top of his head... You just wait... you'll get your turn."
4. Emerson's trey from near half-court in the last game.
3.Alf: "I'm still mad at Jeff for missing that open layup. After my fake shot-pass to him after drawing the double team. It was so beautiful... like a flower... a flower that you STEPPED ON "
2. Justin's power drive in game 12 over the out-stretched arms of Sam for a nice lay-in.
1. Alf and Erick on a 2-on-1... underneath the basket, Alf passes to Erick, and Erick does a over-the-head no-look tip-pass, which was too hot for Alf to handle as the ball hits him in the face and the play goes the other way. Alf: "Actually it went like this: I put up a bad layup. Antelope rebounded, and threw it over his head in one motion. I didn't expect such creativity from him, so I ate it in the face."

Stars
3. Jeff: I believe all his points came via the jump-shot.
2. Whore: The leading scorer. The jacker!
1. Alf: Moving picks and over-the-back rebounds eared him #1 star. Yippie!

Injuries
In game 7, Delonte twisted his ankle badly by stepping on Jason's heel while both of them were chasing a loose ball.
