1. Luis off the backboard chasedown block on Thunder. I don't understand the "off the backboard" part. Can anybody explain to me? Because Luis cannot possibly come off the backboard himself, unless he can fly lol.

you forgot the highlight where in game 7, Victor blocks Yoga (who's 1/2 feet taller) going baseline and pins the ball on the backboard (I don't even know how this is possible... Victor could touch the backboard?)

I use to hang on the rim too...back in Grade 5 when we had dunk contests on 6' hoops. Mad hops! haha

we should meet together for some grub before we watch the game... and prolly carpool as well... we could meet up at my place if you guys wants.... then maybe drive to the broadway skytrain station where i know of free parking and skytrain down to the stadium. its the cheapest way i know... and cheaper if you dont pay for the skytrain fees... but im not like that.

Highlight #8: you guys are far too easy on my blown lay up...thanks lix, but it didn't "slip"...it drank some red bull, got wings and flew over the basket as I let go of it at the front rim...ahhah...that was after i think another 3 or 4 blown breakaway lay ups already...cost us a couple of games early on...
for those who listen to Team 1040 regularly...i'd compare my poker game to Troy...totally random...totally senseless...totally don't know what I'm doing. the only reason i even know how the hands work is from Big 2 and the 90s classics..."Dou Sun", "Dou Bah"....(God of Gamble?)...I'm in for the Canucks game...not so sure about the card game...

cheap teams!
actually, i don't think they were that cheap. just that everyone on whore's team were having a bad night. they team looks pretty damn good on paper. two guards, two forwards and a center. most players on their team can shoot 3s, they have 3 good rebounders and good defence all around from all players.

oh damn, i forgot to finish writing the highlight. sorry . ne ways this was what we saw/heard....
while whore's team was on the court playin. whore was cheering on his teammate (calvin battling with 3 defenders and getting his own rebound 2x) standing on the 3point line by us benchwarmers. screaming "yes! yes calvin! yes". zechy said "all dan needs are some pom poms".. which we found pretty funny cuz he was cheering so loud and so hard.. lol =)

hey guys thanks for the extra beers, i think i have a dozen more beers than i started with haha
highlights:
1. josh wins cash game and tournament
2. whore, richard and vince all lose their $$ and all we can do is think back to when we were better/younger haha
3. zechy must've been drunk, he said bye to us 3 times. leaves, comes back in. then goes downstairs and comes back up.
cheese was a jalapeno, pepper white cheddar. picked it up from the states when i was down there a couple weeks ago (we bring a cooler with us). it was only $6 for a pretty big block.

2. "When a system omits the NBA's leading scorer at center from its All-Star ballot, there is clearly something wrong with the system.
The 2010 NBA All-Star Game ballot was unveiled on Tuesday and there is one glaring, deplorable mistake. Chris Kaman, the reigning Western Conference Player of the Week, was mysteriously omitted.
Kaman, who missed most of the 08-09 season with a foot injury, leads all centers in scoring with 21.9 PPG (That’s 1.9 more PPG than Dwight Howard who led the league in voting last season). Kaman has also pulled down an average of 9.4 rebounds through the team’s first eight games.
Marcus Camby, who is averaging 9.3 PPG and 9.9 RPG is the Clippers representative on the ballot at center. The Clippers’ Al Thronton, Blake Griffin and Baron Davis appear on the ballot as well.
ESPN’s Marc Stein, who is on the committee, said the following on his Twitter account: “Win as a committee, lose as a committee. Group thinking on Kaman: Shouldn’t be two LAC centers in a group of 12. We picked Camby over Kaman.”
Maybe so, Marc, but what’s the reasoning for having two Boston centers on the list (Kendrick Perkins, Rasheed Wallace)? Chicago’s Joakim Noah is another player having a big year that is off the ballot. Noah is averaging 11.3 PPG, 11.0 RPG, and 2.3 Blocks.
It should be noted that although the ballots were released today, the players were determined in early October for printing reasons.
This problem however, should be avoidable. There is no reason that the ballot should have to come out right now – just two weeks into the season. The committee should be able to watch each team’s first 10 games or so and then have the list unveiled in early or mid-December. The game is not until February 14, which leaves plenty of time for voting.
Having guys like Samuel Dalembert and Allen Iverson on the list is keeping players that are having much better years off of it. Hopefully, the NBA will learn from this and delay the voting next year. Not having Kaman on the ballot is failing to acknowledge his great start."

New CCWB record: Longest highlight - Highlight #2 Nov 10, 2009.
Those were 99 cent teams...Yoga appears to have found the new drug of choice lately and gone crazy on all CCWB minnions...don't think you'd see whore, me, Gabe, AND spirit of Ray all have 20+ (18 is close enough...20+ just sounds better) point games on the same team, on the same night without somebody that demands 5 defenders' attention...that was a classic night of how Yoga's flame brightened his teammates stats. Must also say...good team D last night...lots of help and rotation on D...
The teams on paper are actually much more even than it turned out...

teams were pretty fair tonight i thought compared to other nights. but crap, we weren't the cheap team today, sucks! i totally sucked though...and called a p^ssy foul on the glove too haha it was a foul though -follow through-, but then again i ain't wade, i'm toni kokuc so maybe i shouldn't have called it! thanks glove!

Yo man, don't group me into Jeff's request! I actually wanted shooters to spread the floor for Yoga's drives. Jeff wanted Brad Miller cuz he wanted someone to do the dirty work of rebounding for him.
In the end, it worked out really well cuz our team got really really small after Yoga left early. We were so close to blowing the 6-2 start :|
Let's be honest though... we knew we were going to lose a lot of games at the end of the night. It's like the Cavs trying to make the playoffs without Lebron.

what? i didn't even realize calvin was subbing, he was an animal that game! oh well, the records ended up pretty even at the end, so that's good. and it's good to know that our team only beat yoga's team once after yoga left, so we actually had a decent team and it wasn't cuz yoga left which resulted in our 5-5 record. SR was lighting it up!

5. Erick's lefty lay-up in game 3 on 2 defenders. Cheap move!
4. Luis nails a game-winning 3 in Vince's grill in game 14 about 3 feet away from straight-away behind the arc. Vince: "It's not my fault!" No it wasn't - you contested the shot with a straight arm, the man (or monkey in this case) just couldn't miss. Cheap.
3. Before Felix could cleanly come down while snatching an offensive rebound in game 10, Victor had one hand on the ball and the ball goes out of bounds. Victor claims his hand motion was curving the ball inbounds, while Felix smacks the ball several times and screams out "I got the ball. I GOT THE BALL!..." It seemed like he was going to rip somebody's head off!
2. After strippin the ball away from Lil Girl's drive in game 10, Lil Girl smacked both of his hands really hard on the floor to make it seem like a really hard foul. Erick: "HOOOOOOLY COOOOOOW. Are you okay?" The way he said it was so sarcastic half the crowd almost died laughing!
1. In game 4, Luis fires a 3 from almost straight-away and immediately goes for the offensive rebound because he think he was going to be way off, but BANK! And it goes in, which tied the game at 10-10. He then wishes an off-balance step-back trifecta off a catch-and-shoot to win the game. Erick, who was defending that last shot, "I fouled him too!" Luis didn't miss a shot after that... cheap!

The cheap team did not get best record last night. We were able to eek out the best record over the all-star MVP team of Calvin, Erick, Justin, Lester, Victor, Vince (Justin was the GM for that team btw... Lester was the GM for our team except he ditched us for the cheap team).
The cool highschool kids go out for movie nights on Tuesdays... that's why Gen made Emerson go. Emerson should tell her that watching basketball at CCWB is more entertaining and romantic than watching Titanic.

i will try to show up early once and be a GM to make some cheap teams too. jeff, whore and one more person are banned from GM'ing, that's cool! hahaha

Speaking of the new year, next week is suppose to be Ray's comeback week. But... "I just wanna shoot. Don't need to save a spot for me (next week). I ain't gonna play. Knee is not in great shape. Actually, I'm in no shape at all, hasn't been in 10 years lol. I wanna work my way back slowly. I could seriously hurt myself if I jump back in like THAT. Starting next week I'll have more time so I can shoot around at CC."
Well, a few things. If he hasn't been in shape for a decade, wouldn't it make no difference whether or not he jumps back straight in or not? And shooting around at CC... I see his loose balls interferring with all our games and Felix banning him because of that hahahaha!
I'm gonna have Top Dawg fill Ray's spot! =p TD for life!
Actually I'll have the SPIRIT of Ray fill Ray's spot.
